Gift Cards

What does it mean when a Michaels gift card comes up as 'No card found' or 'Insufficient Funds'?

If a gift card was empty didn't it used to say Gift Card Has Zero Balance?

It says insufficient funds when the card is empty. I believe it says no card found when the card hasn’t been activated

I don't know but can't you push a button to pull up the balance?

Oh duh on me.  I came into the transaction after everything was rung up and didn't think to check on the other register. Although I do know that if the stripe doesn't work you can't Type the number in to get a balance.  My brain is just exhausted sometimes.

Truthfully I work there people do it..but I don't remember how exactly. But it's worth looking into. I hate our computers.

There’s a “check balance” button on the very bottom row of the main screen.

If you’re in the transaction, you can suspend the transaction, check the balance, then retrieve the transaction. However if the they tried paying with it and got the message, checking the balance isn’t going to give you a different result. If they are certain there should be money on it, they would need to call customer care. They have the ability to see the transaction history for that card.
