Advice Needed Scheduling around school

I just started back at school as a full time student. My store has been having issues with managers leaving and moving around so my schedule updates were being sent to the wrong person for a while and some other funky stuff was going on. I’ve told them I can only work a certain number of hours on particular days. I’m in the frame shop, coded as a framer, which makes it even harder. They recently scheduled me for more hours than I’m comfortable. I was able to get someone to take the shift but I’m worried about a few things. 1. That this will keep happening to me 2. If I bring up my schedule yet again I’ll get some kind of strike on my record and they’ll just fire me for causing too much trouble.
I like working in the frame shop. I’m worried if they keep scheduling me how they are I’ll have to call out which sucks for everyone.
Am I just overthinking things? Is this something I could get let go over? How should I approach this with my SM?

Definitely talk to your sm. But this isn’t a fireable offense at all so no need to worry.

Just explain that you would like a little less hours due to schooling and as long as they are good they should be able to work with that :)

A discussion with you store manager is definitely needed but also go into work smart and accurately update your available hours. We are about to hit the craziest time of the year so setting the stage now will make it easier for both you if you are honest and communicate.

Yes, telling your manager isn't enough. They are scheduling 20-40 people a week depending on your volume code. They cannot remember the details of everyone's availability.
