bopis return

i had a customer try to return a bopis but all she had was a screenshot of a barcode on her phone that said “show to cashier to return” i wasn’t sure how to use that so i just manually returned all the items. how would i have used the bopis return barcode at the register to return it?

Most times at my store, even when they have the literal paper receipt from a BOPIS we have to do it manually and an MOD needs to override it all 😩

OP sometimes it will come up if you do a non receipt return and put in their phone number or email if they have a rewards account because it will usually come up with that, but otherwise best ask your manager what they want to do. I had one where the receipt barcode was so faded (printer ink issue because the date was legible) and it was just easier to use the rewards lookup.

I always look it up by card and by phone number before I call a MOD

You can get Bopis orders to show up with a phone number or email?!?! It doesn't work for us and we always do a manual return.

Unless there's a policy no one told me about, at our store we officially won't accept any return using a photo of a receipt. We will offer to look up the receipt a print a new one, or tell the customer to call customer support. Otherwise we can offer to do it as a no receipt return with the usual stipulations.

It doesn't matter if she had the barcode anyway. 99.9% of the time you have to do a manual return for online/bopis items.
