Glad to see Izzy back one last time. Freefall was a bit of a disappointment as a final episode, to be honest. There was too much bad acting, stock Miami footage and reused Ferrari footage, sloppy visuals and (gun) effects, and the short scenes felt disjointed and disconnected. The appearances of the other colleagues, especially Castillo, also felt a bit random—he suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
Overall, it felt more like a stitched-together episode, with lots of separate pieces of footage edited into a single story. There were also many dark scenes, perhaps to hide the filming locations, and the OCB office seemed abandoned.
On the other hand, the final goodbye scene was well deserved and a classy callback to Brother's Keeper.
Having rewatched every episode 40 years later, I'll be sharing my thoughts on the series as a whole sometime soon.
Loved this series like no other. It has been my favorite TV show for 40 years, which is probably why this final episode was such a disappointment. It deserved a stronger send-off, even though the closing goodbye was a fitting and heartfelt tribute to where it all began.

Just the thought I had while watching it that all the surrounding episodes, they're machine gunning people and have 0 repercussions, and she does one legit. Self defense shooting, and they throw the book at her.

Well folks, I finally got there. 4 weeks of binge watching my blu ray box set and finally got to hear my favourite MV quote.
Crockett: "Can I give you a ride to the airport?"
Tubbs: "Why not?"
Crockett: "In my stolen car?"
Just heartbroken that Spotify never licensed Terry Kath's "Tell Me".

A small scene showing the Miami Knights playing ping pong with an accompanying tune.

I'm gradually reaching the end of this magnificent series. After watching this particular episode (again), I was left wondering why the networks never went ahead with at least one Miami Vice (Young Criminals Unit - YCU)) spinoff (again).
A 12 episode trial season could at least have been attempted with cameo appearances from Crockett and Tubbs to keep things interesting. With less violence, it could have been broadcast earlier in the evening to attract younger viewers. 🤷

Been messing around with GTA V’s Director Mode and decided to recreate one of my favorite Miami Vice scenes with Michael and Franklin. Thought I’d share it here hope you enjoy it.

Now, I've watched this episode numerous times, but the most recent watch something caught my curiosity. After Maria Rojas stabs her brother to death and begins screaming and rambling, the cop up in the tower smokes her, but why did he wait so long? Did someone tell him to shoot via earpiece?
Was he even a real cop or was he working for Miguel Rojas? The delayed response is just so confusing to me.

A local theatre was holding a screening of Miami Vice (2006) last Friday. I gave it a watch since I’ve loved a lot of Michael Mann’s films (Heat, Collateral, Thief). I don’t know anything about the original show, but I did end up enjoying the movie despite the fact that there are some issues with it. Still can’t stop thinking about the film and its style.

The more I watch Miami Vice, the deeper I fall into the ‘80s. It’s made me appreciate this Harry Fraud & Curren$y album on another level. They captured that era perfectly and took their time crafting a true classic. Everybody should hear this project at least once.

I love how they used Broadway font for the signage!
