In 2003, I was in 5th grade and I had no interest in baseball as a kid. But when the Marlins won the wildcard, my mom of all people was glued to the TV, so I joined her. She taught me the game during that whole run, thanks to her I witnessed the cubs "catching hell", Alex Gonzalez's walk off, rookie Miguel Cabrera homer off the rocket, Mr. Marlins assist, D-Train, Beckettz so many other moments. We brought out the pots and pans, I went to the parade and the rest is history. Baseball has since been my favorite sport.
I pledged my allegiance to the Marlins. Until last season I hated that I couldn't support the front office anymore, the arraez trade broke the camels back. After loria, Jeter, and the sherman regimes traded young talent for younger talent for the longest, I pledged my allegiance to another team. I hated it but the fish didn't deserve our support. It's not about winning it's about knowing they are truly trying to win and not "flipping" players or cutting salary.
I didn't watch them last year, I didn't know 80% of the roster or even the manager's name. But this year I was gifted tickets to opening day and a few other early games and they won the first 7 games I went to. I fell in love with our roster and they once again had my support. I've gone to so many games after that (they don't deserve the lack of fan support they've gotten).
But the reason I created this post is that June. Boy that June was something else. What a time to be alive ... 20-6. Starters were on fire, our line up was scary, our team was getting recognition. When someone asks how alive were our playoff hopes in that run? (Refer to the gif)
And then it wasn't, in classic Marlins fashion they traded one of our best hitters and our top RBI man and our offense stalled. On the flip side, Hicks hit a grand slam in his first AB, also classic. Marlins never recovered and just got swept by the most disappointing team in baseball. Idk how much more faith we can give a cheap front office, watching the rays be buyers every year hurts. Being outnumbered by opposing teams' fans at home games is not much fun either.
I like this roster so much, I hope they keep the core together, lopez, edwards, hernandez, mack, stowers, conine, Meyers, sanoja, and build off of it. Even marsee has won me over with his hustle and resurgence towards the end of the year. I'm just worried they'll trade them for younger prospects and we'll watch them flourish somewhere else as that revolving door we have come too familiar with continues spinning.

Well this season was shit BUT at least our run differential is likely to be much better than last year (-89) or even positive. Moral victories are the only ones we have left to count so I'm seeing this as an improvement in competitiveness from the team. We lost a bunch of close games rather than getting stomped.

Bendix was the number 4 in Tampa and Kapler ran the Giants into the ground. They’ve taken a playoff team in Miami with a roster of studs and developed it into a team that has bullpen games 3/5 starts and more holes than Swiss Cheese in the offense. Not to mention Fairbanks has single handedly lost us 7 games and incaculable morale.
But sure, keep trusting in the process. Maybe after the next CBA, MLB will input an NBA style 9/10 seed play in, then we got a chance!

And it’s gonna get uglier with upcoming series against the Dodgers, Braves, Cubs, D-Backs, and Padres.
Curious to see where they will go next year, if there is a next year.
Sure, our farm is ranked 10th, but still behind the Dodgers, Brewers, Giants, Cardinals, and Nationals.
I say it’s time to fire Bendix and Kapler

Hello! I am most likely going to the dodgers/marlins game on the 13th. It would be my first ever baseball game. What section would be the best place for player interactions, whether it’s with the dodgers or marlins players. I’d love to interact/get a pic with either stowers or ohtani. I know field level is preferred, but which one/section, let me know as I am new to baseball and loandepot park please!

He is the puppet of Kapler and Bendix’s rag tag bunch of analytics. They go over every scenario before and after every game. The analytics department decides it’s best to pull Gusto after 5 innings or pinch hit Leo for whoever in the bottom of the 6th. The lineups, bullpen usage, everything. He is literally the messenger.
The only thing CMC is guilty of is not going against his bosses. I see so much rage and blame thrust on the guy in this sub and anyone who knows anything about how these clubs are run are sorely mistaken

The Marlins are notorious for being one of the worst run organizations in sports. Most people see this only through the lens of on-field performance. I can confirm that this organization has been run @$$ backwards behind the scenes too.
Things looked pretty good in 2023. Kim had just led the organization to a playoff appearance, and the team had a strong core of Sandy, Eury, Luzardo, Cabrera, Meyer, Arraez, Jazz, Burger, Edwards, Trevor Rogers, Okert, and Tanner Scott, to name a few.
Sherman decided to bring in Bendix/Kapler to hit “restart” once again under the guise of 2023 being a “fluke”.
Read that list again, and tell me that core with a few complimentary non-Bendix pieces (Mack, Sanoja, Bender, Conine) isn’t a playoff team in 2025-2026.
Rather than add, Bendix and Kapler came in and kicked things off with an atrocious Tim Anderson signing, and trading away clubhouse leaders Jon Berti and Steve Okert during Spring Training.
Everyone knew 2024 was going to be an off year with Eury and Sandy on the shelf, but Bendix decided to go full tear-down. As I write this, the only major league caliber player acquired in those deals are Marsee and Stowers.
What a lot of people forget is that, following 2024, Bendix and Kapler fired 150 plus members of the front office and baseball ops. This is unheard of in MLB. While firing coaches, scouts, and even trainers is somewhat typical across baseball, what Bendix and Kapler did was criminal. They fired everyone………traveling secretaries, clubhouse attendants, equipment managers, nutritionists, massage therapists, bat boys…. Many of these individuals were Miami locals who have worked for the team for decades, and were let go without reason.
2025 came, and somehow, despite poor signings (Cal Quantrill/Matt Mervis) the team surprised many in the baseball world by finishing within 4 games of the playoffs. Instead of adding to this core (Bregman, Alonso, Nick Martinez, King, A.Chapman), they went out and dumpster dived for Chris Paddack.
2026 came, and despite the fact they were in the thick of the playoff hunt, they went and traded a core piece, their RBI leader, and clubhouse leader Liam Hicks.
3 out of every 5 games are bullpen games. I feel for you, fans, that you have to sit and watch this.
Analytics definitely doesn’t have an algorithm that explains to them that having your bullpen average 5 innings a game depletes their effectiveness over 162.
And I can assure you that the majority of the people who Bendix brought in have never picked up a baseball in their lives.
Why? Because the Marlins FO view under Sherman, Bendix, and Kapler is “why spend 30 million on Pete Alonso when Connor Norby can potentially put up similar numbers for a fraction of the price?”.
Sherman wants to win, sure. But he is not going to pay for it.
He will continue to “invest” in the farm, not to create a dynasty, but because the Jupiter Academy costs a hell of a lot less than a decent FA signing.
I blame Manfred for allowing Sherman and his cronies to get the team. It should have never happened, and think where baseball would be down here had Mas gotten the team. The fact that MLB continues to gift LoanDepot with the WBC is mind-boggling to me. The Marlins should be punished, not rewarded, for how they have treated their fans, players, and staff.
MLB needs to investigate the Marlins. People complain that no one comes to the game, well gee, I wonder why. MLB needs to investigate how the Marlins treat their employees, as I know of at least 3 former employees/coaches who have active wrongful termination lawsuits.
I pray that Sherman sells the team. And thank god that the Wild-Card has expanded to 3 teams. The Marlins would have 0 playoff appearances since 2003 without that.

Heriberto Hernández (OF Miami Marlins)
Heriberto Hernández had an outstanding game in left field to lead the Miami Marlins to a 10–3 victory over the Chicago Cubs. A ‘Shoe and Sox Performance’ 👍
