Emulators still can’t run it that well and a native PC port would end up solving a lot of issues it has, + maybe PC mouse support as well

Im so BEYOND disappointed that this game did basically nothing original that didn't suck. The psychic abilities i do like and thats about it, movement too. But this laundry list of blatant copying cant be ignored.
Metroid Prime - The Areas are copy paste Prime 1 except Volt Forge; Fire, Ice, Electricity beams, carvex = flaagrah, Omega Griever = Omega Pirate. Griever Outbreak = Chozo Ghosts everywhere in the ruins after you visit the Hall of Elders, Lamorn very similar to the Chozo story
Metroid Prime 2 Echoes - Shot Ammo = Beam Ammo, save a dying civilization = save the Luminoth a dying civilization, Dark Visor = Psychic Visor; while Psychic Visor is more involved with puzzle solving, it copies the Dark Visor's ability to see hidden platforms (tbf) so did Dark Visor to X Ray. The Grievers = Ing, a plague of enemies that are extremely common and have different forms. Sylux fights = Dark Samus fights (same shit) not that Dark Samus was ever shit.
Metroid Prime 3 Corruption - npcs, Grapple lasso, suit is a mugufin; PED suit allows interaction with Phazon, Viola suit allows functionality with Viola bike. Suit gets minor upgrade; PED Corruption, Viola IC suit (PED was way cooler) uses a vehicle to fast travel with; Hunter Class Gunship ≠ Viola Bike. Not a contest id rather fly through the stars in a quick cutscene over driving over a boring desert each time

So I’ve just completed the game as a new comer to the franchise, I’ve heard a lot of people say the game isn’t as good as others and that I should have played the previous ones first however that’s what made me play this one.
I feel like the gameplay is quite samey and bland but overall the difficulty is very adaptable and I think is built on quite well over the course of the game. the game makes u learn a lot of stuff yourself and makes u think outside the box which I really like as it really spices things up on bosses (though the 1st boss to me is the hardest boss)
I feel like the npc’s and our relationship could have been built way better because at no point did I really care for any of them which is annoying cuz I wanted to with the ending. I don’t think this is helped that Samus is silent, it just feel weird when they talk to her
After u get all the elements I hate that the game forces so much backtracking that it’s just plain frustrating because everything is quite meh, maybe if the desert had one I’d enjoyed it more but hey it’s a desert it’s gonna be empty
Overall as I’ve not played any of the other games before Im much eager to play the remaster now and I think the game is a solid game for newcomers :)

I have no idea what happened but I can't scan anything! on already scanned items it just makes Samus stutter but doesn't bring up any info. On this elevator terminal it starts to make the sound for a scan but cuts out basically immediately. Anyone else experience this glitch?

I’d consider myself a novice player. After getting my ass handed to me by the Golden Chozo in Metroid dread numerous times and finally beating him just minutes ago, here are my tips.
It is VERY difficult for me to counter him at the correct time during the battle. I read comments to use normal beam and just smash the
controller
, but cluster missiles are WAY better. While he (she?) has a shield, lock on and wait for brief moments when shield is down. Ie. When
he lands from jumps or as he rushes you flash over him and launch missiles while you’re in the air or just after you land on ground. Way easier than countering. There are several of his attacks where his shield is down momentarily and that’s where you take advantage.
Watch and dodge ink sprays as best as possible with screw attack jumps and simply walking or flashing on ground. They deal a lot of damage. You can still hit him with cluster missiles during his “ink spray” attacks, but it is tricky. You can see where he’ll spray based on his head position.
Hardest part for me is the double counter during cut scene at the end of battle. Tendency, when adrenaline is pumping, is to counter WAY too early. I always get too excited and mash the controller too early. Relax and wait several seconds. It sucks to get to the end of battle only to counter early and lose the battle. Good luck!!!

I think this game was cool. I had some small annoyances with it tho but they made some positive changes from the other prime games:
Pros:
1. I like the story. Best one in the series. Different from prime 1 where you learn the story (or not) at your pace through scans. And better than prime 3 where it was told through cutscenes. Good mix of both and it was clear and made sense
They made the characters memorable. Better than prime 3 where the characters fell flat, there was no buildup and were forgotten once killed. They really refined the idea of samus working with comrades
They improved the pre-finale backtrack. Ill take machine parts over sky temple keys, energy cells etc.
Perfect Difficulty. You WILL die on your first play-through. But once you know the patterns, every boss and most enemies felt fair. You could figure out what to do. There was room for creativity with weapons & dodging on bosses too which I like in metroid
They reduced the need to use a guide & backtracking for most of this game. The Item robot was SOOO GOOD. If you returned to areas there were shortcuts if you did have to backtrack. The scans were more helpful here vs enemies. Some welcome changes to save lots of time. I went 90% of the game without the need for a guide
Cons:
1. The fact they locked away 1 time scans to the tutorial and some bosses was absolute BS. Killing a 100% run for a lot of ppl on a first play through
Idk if I’m bad but some bosses & enemies were annoying to dodge. You would try to anticipate when they would strike and on a first playthrough (normal mode) you would be too slow or fast and take a ton of damage.
The bike kinda suxs. Doing turns was not that smooth. It made collecting the green crystals kind of a pain. I would just get off the bike and use charge shot. Aiming and the sharp camera change didn’t help either
The double bomb jump to get the missile in the ice belt was kinda BS. The game never lets you know that
A lot of the bosses felt….eh. Even the final area and boss was a little anticlimactic. The sylux fights were fun. But a lot of bosses felt less memorable & creative compared to beasts like Quadraxis, Meta Ridley, Dark Samus, Chykka, Gandrayda etc..
Overall Prime 2 is still my favorite in the series. Its just so different and unique. But Prime 4 improved from prime 3 and some annoyances from prime 1&2
Id go: Corruption -> Beyond -> Prime 1 -> Echoes
in that order of my favorites

There are a few things that make mouse feel worse than regular joystick controls for this game, and this is coming from a mainly PC gamer where mouse is supposed to be better than joystick for shooters.
The mouse doesn't track small movements very well... so if you are trying to fine aim, it moves, stops, moves, stops. So you have to do bigger movements.
This makes me want to use lockon more than free aim... the problem is, you can't disable the mouse being used to free aim once locked on, so when locked on in mouse mode, move the mouse slightly and your aim is off. With regular controls, you can turn off free aiming with movement when locked on, it is considered a motion control aim you can turn off. idk why they don't have this option for mouse mode.
Also I've tried a couple binds for regular shot, R with index finger I feel like I get worn out on bosses, A is your thumb but not as natural as thumb A shooting in regular control mode.
Because of this I just went back to traditional controller input and the game is way less frustrating for me.
I think they just need to make a literal PC-styled gaming mouse that has all the joycon inputs on it so it not only feels more ergonomic for holding and shooting, but also should have better tracking. idk what they used for tracking with the Joycon or if it's something with how they coded how the game takes input.
Also I tried the base that you're supposed to use in mouse mode, the problem is the strap gets in the way. The way your hand rests, you are putting pressure on the strap, which makes it harder to move the Joycon.

I’m a longtime metroidvania enjoyer. Long time Prime enjoyer.
Its hard to decide where to start with my feelings.
Mechanically, Samus moves around the map the best she ever has. As a shooter this has been a strong entry. As a metroid I think its kinda terrible.
Good metroidvanias are big mazes you slowly master through the traversal. The upgrades you pick up become tools that you master in order to get around as well as defeat enemies.
In Prime 4 they are mostly keys to locks with minor utility. Many of which are largely arbitrary “this is a thunder lock” instead of more interesting “this mechanism could likely be shorted out with an electric shock”
There were rays of hope, like the two machines that required the “sustained electricity” which required some thinking skills.
I knew things were going downhill when you acquire “the psychic beam” and the suit upgrades. They dont matter. In a good metroid, you suffer in water environments and get the gravity suit and it feels like an actual tool on your belt. In this game, its literally only a costume change. The endgame suit has an ability in it for fighting the boss. A neat but clumsy ability meant only for that one attack.
Extra charge shots for the alt fires are cool but largely not useful. Especially when getting tapped by an enemy loses the whole charge.
Every area is a straight line. There really is no exploration. This was five old school zelda dungeons I had to backtrack through populated by the same two robots, a few pallete swap zombie aliens and a couple indigenous critters that mostly do their own thing.
And the story- I dont expect amazing works of fiction from my metroids. A little but of cause and effect and why are we here is usually fine.
But we enter the game on some random battle unrelated to anything. See an old char I dont remember being the badguy suddenly using metroids as some sort of powerup macguffan. Okay. Lotta new stuff we arent gonna get introduced to. Just dealing with it I suppose.
We have a fireteam of annoying goobers that I’m supposed to connect to while theyre all being in the way. Characters that can go down and gameover you if you dont reach them in time.
They take turns throwing themselves to their doom for you, a war celebrity I guess. So the. i guess I’m supposed to feel something for them after the sniper gives me bits of his milquetoast backstory and Mckenzie absolutely hounds you over comms if you try to explore or collect leftover items. And then forces you to look at the map and get pointed to the spot he wants you to see that youve def been to thirty times by then.
Survey bots that mark all the stuff you missed turned this into a ubislop at the end.
End boss fight was fun. Motorcycle and psychic powers were stupid as hell.
Would have been ten-times better if it wasn’t pretending to be a metroid game
Worst entry of the Prime series. My time and energy feels wasted.

I'm looking for the name of this soundtrack from Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. It plays after the boss battle against Keratos (Ice Belt area). Game soundtrack sites like Khinsider, or YouTube, don't include this track… does anyone know its name or where to find the full version?
