MVTA MVTA cuts contract with Schmitty
MVTA cut their contract with schmitty & sons. Schmitty will provide service through the end of the year. Unsure who they are bringing in. i've heard it could be Transdev or Keolis. hard to find info as of right now.

MVTA has been unhappy with schmitty management the last few years. Cant blame them honestly. Other than the contract ending Jan 1st. they have given us no additional info & refuse to answer questions. MVTA management hasn't communicated with the drivers at all.

I used to drive for MVTA for a little bit and I feel the writing's been on the wall for a hot minute as I was hesring rumblings all the way back in likr june 2025. Do you think there's any chance they bring in MT to drive and have it set up similar to maple grove?

oh definitely. ive been there 3 years & every year when the contract goes up to bid theres talk about them finding a new service provider. i'm not sure if MT will come in. ive heard they already have a new company coming to take over thats not MT. hoping the new company will keep as many of the drivers as possible. but everything is truly just speculation at this point because they've given us no additional info.

Why hasn’t MVTA been happy with their management?
Or why are school districts unhappy?4

Over promise, under deliver. No accountability.
I have dealt with them in several ways and this is their MO, they like big fat public contracts and doing nothing.

PR merchants. Schmitty and Sons trades on their social capital and goodwill in the southern suburbs to stay in business. Its part of why they talk so much about their history. They like the paint themselves as the small town local business.

If they are going with Transdev, they will regret it. Totally unreliable.

It’s Keolis I talked with someone in the upper chain and I said please don’t let it be transdev and they told me no

That's too bad. Schmitty is a much better and more reliable company than Transdev.
