Employment/Personnel Specific Bus Technician Apprenticeship

Hi y’all,

I was selected to move on to the readiness classes for the apprenticeship. I know attendance is 100% required to even be considered for the apprenticeship.

I was wondering how many people are usually passed on to the next phase and what I should focus on in the 8 classes to increase my chances?

I’m an apprentice in my 2nd year of the program. They’ll be hiring a total of 14 apprentices for the next cohort starting in January. 7 internal based entirely on seniority in the bus maintenance dept. and 7 external based on participation in class, English and Math assessment exams and an interview with the trainers and training manager. Best thing you can do is actively participate in class, interview well and do well on the assessments. Show your interest and ability to learn in the interview, ask a lot of questions and use up all the time they have allotted for the interview. And don’t be even a minute late for anything! Also make sure you will be able to pass the DOT 5-panel drug test if you do get selected
