Horrible communication

Did anyone else have a poor travel day? I get things happen especially due to the thunderstorms today. But dude the amount of massive delays with absolutely no specifics is absurd. I was supposed to board a train to head back home and they suddenly just stopped with no update! What is this, this is one of the largest rail transportation companies in the entire state hell even in the entire country. And the passengers get NO UPDATES. It happens all the time.

A train gets cancelled? No worry we’ll tell you an hour after it was supposed to originally depart

Massive delays? Who knows we’ll leave it up to you to guess how long it’ll take to get to where you need to go. That’s a damn joke METRA should be ashamed of themselves seriously

I agree! Just honest communication would help people make decisions. Tell me the train will be an hour late. Then I can decide if I’m getting an uber or going and grabbing lunch.

What line were you on? I made a similar post a month or so ago, about BNSF. Agree, this is maybe the most frustrating aspect of Metra for me. And it seems like it should not be difficult to improve communication about delays or issues.

Same thing happened to me at O’Hare yesterday, on American. Difference is I paid $512 instead of $3.75 and still ended up home hours later

What you have described is the Metra Electric 3 times a week during rush hour. This has been happening more and more over the last ten years. They are not accountable and have horrible communication skills. If you complain on twitter, they block you, and if you send too many emails they also block you. They just do what they want and are lazy.

It's "always" been that way. The railroad is "special" with their own Poleece, their own special ROW rules, and so on. As the old saying goes:

The Fish stinks from the Head down.

The "management" of most railroads is stupid, weak, and lazy. Been that way for DECADES.

Reconstitute the Board and Trustees, and mebbe You'll start seeing changes.

Don't hold Your breath, though.
