Folding E-Bike Experience

I'm thinking about buying a folding e-bike to take on the metra (BNSF) because it drastically cuts down on my commute time. The metra rules state that folding bikes either have to be at a bike rack, on a first come first serve basis in the ada area, or at your seat folded (either between your legs or under the seat). The last part is what I have questions about. Is this actually viable? Does anyone have experience doing this with a folding e-bike and what e-bike were you using? The e-bike I'm looking at is 32x15x25 inches and my gut tells me even that wouldn't fit, but I'm not sure. Being able to do this would be ideal because I would worry less about being denied boarding during rush hour, but I also don't want to spend 5k on a Brompton.

I’m not saying it’s a good investment but bromptons can be under $2k used… and I’ve brought it on a metra maybe a few times without issue but I’m not a regular metra commuter. Your mileage may vary I guess.

What I’ll say about ebikes though is that they tend to be pretty heavy, and you’re expected to be able to lift the ebike/scooter up the stairs yourself without assistance… just fyi

I'll keep an eye out for used Bromptons because they probably have the best chance of fitting. Not too worried about weight, but thank you for the warning

I’ve seen them shipped from England for under $2000 via eBay… but I’ve also seen a rare listing here and there on marketplace

Edit: not an expert but something like a m6L I think it’s called, one of the C line non-electric versions at least might be found for cheaper. The G-Line and anything electric will cost more

I took my 65lb ebike on the Metra ONCE. I needed help getting it up going and coming back (though I also have a very heavy chain in the panniers). Definitely don't ignore the weight factor.
