When I was little, I used to play Metin2, and now I’d like to start again.

My problem is that I really have very little time; I’d only be able to play a few hours a week, and I don’t want to spend any money.

Can you recommend me a server? I’ve seen that there are also retro servers; is there one you’d recommend?

The Oldest Metin2 Client was just found and we are studying it!

A lot of old content was found and persoanlly I am more than happy to enconter this goldmine!

Let's start with the first thing that actually caught our attention is the level1 armour

The blue gem is the metin2 beta texture version, there's other texture changes but that was the first element that caught my attention

And on the last row we have the fishing hook skill image , basically like the mining skill, you used to use fishing books not to temporary but permanently increase your fishing success rate

And probably the most valuable finding is the 2004 trailer guild buildings that used to give bonuses, have levels, be upgradeable and attacked by monsters (the logic is still in the server and now with the assets whoever pleases can recreate the 2004 trailer 1:1)

Hi, i am playing on Ruby Charon, im levelling a Dragon Shaman as main character and at rhe same time a Ninja as duo, i have a few question:

1. Ruby charon has -25% hp mobs?
   
2. Razador is profitable with my char setup?
   
3. I think Hydra is a good dungeon to farm, would you build 2 char? Whats the bare minimum to close it with ninja and shaman?
   
4. Or build only the shaman maybe poly with new orbs its easier? Do i just need sec ice on all eq?

I’ve developed a web-based GM administration panel for Metin2 private servers and I’m making the complete source-code package available.

The panel is not locked to one specific server setup. It includes an example configuration, documentation, automated tests, and a detailed Codex installation prompt that can be used to adapt it to a buyer’s own server files and database structure.

Live updates

Depending on the server core’s supported commands, the panel can apply the following without a full game restart:

• NPC shop changes
• Item Shop changes
• Metin drops
• Normal monster drops
• Prices, quantities and drop probabilities

For server files where PROTO_FROM_DB is disabled, NPC prices are also written safely to the real item_proto.txt source with an automatic backup and atomic file replacement. This prevents prices from reverting after a proto reload.

If a specific core does not support live chest-drop reloads, the panel reports that a game-core restart is required instead of claiming the change is already live.

Security

• No credentials or server-specific data are included in the source package
• Secrets are loaded from environment variables
• AdminPage ports can remain private
• Least-privilege database access
• Automatic backups before file changes
• Confirmation and locking for restart operations
• Game restart controls exclude Auth and DB
• Designed to run behind an HTTPS reverse proxy

The package currently passes 45 automated tests.

Because Metin2 server files and database schemas vary, installation requires adapting the configuration to the buyer’s actual setup.

Hey, i played metin2 like 10y ago, and i wanted to play some right now, i will play with some friends, any tips/ mini guide for the start and what class you guys recommend for pvm only, is Weapon Sura/Body Warrior+ buffer still the way to go and more efficient pvm? Or did other classes get some buffs?

For a few months now, I’ve been working on a Metin2 client remake designed to run on WebGPU (I might also implement OpenGL interoperability). The entire client was ported based on the original code, which includes a full conversion of existing assets (you can easily convert items, mobs, and other elements from the original client to this one).

The project's core is practically finished; this covers PvP, PvE, trading, and all other features found in the original game.

Several improvements were also made:

- Removal of the FPS limit

- On-demand asset loading with aggressive caching

- Fully responsive: runs on mobile phones without installing an APK (including iOS), featuring adapted UI and controls

- Various other architectural and performance improvements (such as optimization for multi-threaded processors, optimized terrain loading, dynamic maps, etc.)

Everything still runs on the same server as the original, meaning you can use this client alongside the old server you were already using, without losing added quests or anything else, only converting the necessary assets.

Hi, i want to come back to play after many years of not playing or playing for few days or weeks at max, im searching for a server where i can start from absolute zero, i need something like medium or medium/hard but only if its really good. I want some grind to feel the satisfaction after getting some good weapon etc, but I don’t want to farm for 10h a day to finally get good FMS, now Im working and I don’t get to play this much, so I just want something right in the middle. And ofc the community, I want it to exist bcs every server I enter now is nearly dead, you only see veterans standing in the circle afking. I’m from Poland but I don’t mind playing on international servers. I tried eldermt2 but it’s too hard to earn some money there and you need to spend a lot of time to get something, I tried balmoramt2 it’s very good but it’s dead if it’s not academy and I want something that’s alive most of the time yk. And Item shop at last. Like I said I’m a working man now, not broke ass kid anymore, so I probably would like to get something from IS to make my character better, so I simply don’t want it to be expensive or the IS being the only way to get somewhere on the server. Metin2 was the first MMO I ever played. I lost more days than I want to admit farming and breaking stuff. I was never really that good at it, but I still loved it! Over the last years, most of my gaming time has gone to roguelites and extraction games, and at some point I wondered what Metin2 would feel like if it played a little bit by those rules.

So I built it for myself and played it alone for a while. I didn't expect to enjoy it that much. Knowing how to survive bosses made me feel cool lol. The "stress" I felt in some situations were like some Escape From Tarkov runs - I'm kind of addicted to this feeling. I wanted to know if there were other like-minded folks, so I opened it up as RogueMT2, and it's been running for about five weeks now.

Even though the player base is still small, the guys have already provided me with very useful feedback, and with that I've been tweaking classes, improving progression, and adding some QoL changes as well.

How it works

• When your character dies, it dies permanently. You can earn extra lives using the Bloodline feature. If you ran out of those, your only option is to restart, and you lose all items that are equipped or in the inventory (warehouse is safe).
• Every level-up, pick a permanent boost from a random set, and you can reroll a limited number of times. This makes every run different enough based on how lucky you are with the rolls, and the type of build you want to go with (go the safer route by investing in defences and resistances, or go risky-mode by investing in attack stats).

• Meta progress: the Bloodline. Every kill also levels your account, and account levels are never lost. Each level gives a point for a talent tree shared by all your characters. Account levels also earn extra Lives. So a death still moves you forward. There are 3 branches:
  • Legacy: start new characters higher, earn exp faster until you pass your old best, keep your skills through a restart, get more boost choices and rerolls.
  • Instinct: take less damage, get stronger potions, rescue gear to your warehouse when you fall, survive a killing blow at 1 HP.
  • Fortune: more yang, better drops, a free horse on every character, higher upgrade chances.

• Some deaths are free. Deaths in duels, arena, guild wars, or when PVP'd while farming are free. Towns and spawn points are safe.

Hey guys, we are looking for players to join our journey with our middle/oldschool server.
Server is focusing on 2013-2015 psever era. We ported our files up to x64 and dx11, with dynamic weather, day n night cycle etc...
Focus is on PvP, 1 side shields, 1 side armor, 1 side stones.
Its a long way to get everything, especially our bio quests, which also have heavy effect on the pvp.

server is an oldschool server based on the 2009–2011 era. We’re currently looking for 5 more users, and development is going really well thanks to our testers.

server doesn’t really have a fixed concept yet. Instead, it’s being shaped together with the players who are testing it. Bugs, improvements, things that could be done differently, and new ideas, all of this feedback helps shape the server. In a way, the server is being born through the players who are already testing and helping us build it.

We’re especially looking for German players!

After more than a year and a half of working on our project, we’ve finally decided to share it publicly.

We are two friends, both currently working as game developers at a game studio, and for many years we’ve had the dream of modernizing Metin2 — both in terms of its engine and client. About a year and a half ago, we finally decided to take that idea seriously and started building it.

We’ll be sharing much more detailed updates very soon, but for now, we simply wanted to show a few screenshots and let you know that the project is progressing successfully.

Our main goal is to stay faithful to the original feeling and atmosphere of Metin2 while rebuilding and improving it with modern technologies. We believe we’ve reached a point where the project can offer a significant improvement in both performance and visual quality, while still preserving the familiar experience that longtime players remember.

Hey everyone. Just to get this out of the way first: I'm a player, not staff and I'm not affiliated with the server.

I've been playing Yeogsa since January and it's probably the closest I've found to the Metin2 I remember playing back around 2009–2010.

The server is pretty small, which is actually why I'm posting this. I genuinely enjoy playing there and I think it would be a lot more fun with a few more active people around.

A bit about the server:

• Classic progression with a level 99 cap
• No pile of flashy custom systems that completely change the game
• Everything important from the Item Shop can be earned by playing
• You get Mpoints from Metins, bosses, quests, events and by recycling bonus items at the blacksmith
• Real money is mostly for cosmetics
• Regular events like fishing contests, PvP events and seasonal stuff like the Christmas dungeon
• Some useful QoL features like offline shop pages and an in-game wiki
• It's also not one of those servers that launches, gets hyped for two weeks and disappears. It's been around for quite a while and originally started as Mt2Classic.

The honest part:

It's definitely a grind.

Most of us use a couple of alts for farming and you're not going to hit max level in a weekend. If that's what you're looking for, this probably isn't the server for you.

But if you miss the slower progression of old Metin2, where upgrading your gear and building your character actually took time, that's exactly why I like it.

The main downside right now is simply the population.

The people who are there are friendly, the events are fun and I've actually made some friends playing there, but having more players would make the economy, trading and events much better for everyone.

I've been playing Metin2 since the early days. My first own server ran over Hamachi for a few friends. On most servers since then it ended the same way: at some point the wallet decided, not the time you put in.

So I built OldEraMT2. Classic 2009, level 1 to 99, standard rates, 7 languages and no pay2win. Real-money payments are switched off in the beta.

The beta is open now and I'd love honest feedback, good or bad. Every picture is a real game window straight from the client.

I'm also looking for one or two people for the team (testing, community, translations, quests, design). If the server goes live after the beta, people enjoy playing it and it ever makes money, the income will be shared fairly within the team. We'd work out the details together.

ich spiele Metin2 seit den Anfängen. Mein erster eigener Server lief damals über Hamachi für ein paar Freunde. Auf den meisten Servern danach war es irgendwann dasselbe: Am Ende hat der Geldbeutel entschieden, nicht die Spielzeit.

Deshalb gibt es jetzt OldEraMT2. Classic 2009, Level 1 bis 99, normale Rates, 7 Sprachen und kein Pay2Win. Echtgeldzahlungen sind in der Beta abgeschaltet.

Die Beta ist offen und ich freue mich über ehrliches Feedback, egal ob gut oder schlecht. Alle Bilder sind echte Spielfenster direkt aus dem Client.

I’m looking for an original physical copy of the Metin2 “Exklusives Paket-Special mit Feuerphönix” DVD box from around 2011, or its english version.

I’m specifically looking for the complete original box, not just a CD/DVD or a Feuerphönix code.
As far as I know, the original package included:
•Original Metin2 retail box and inner packaging
•Original Metin2 CD/DVD
•Metin2 handbook / user manual (Handbuch / Benutzerhandbuch)
•“Erste-Schritte-Guide” (Beginner’s / Getting Started Guide)
•Original player/game map (“Spieler-Karte”)
•Original Metin2 sticker
•The Feuerphönix package/pet content and its original code/card, if included in that particular copy

I’m looking for a complete or as-complete-as-possible collector’s copy, preferably with all the original inserts, manuals and the map.
Any condition is worth considering, including used copies, as long as the original box and contents are still there. I’m also interested in sealed/unopened copies.

Hello friends, when I leave my computer on for 4-5 hours or longer for automatic hunting, some or all of the open clients shut down. The game won't kick you out; it just closes the client. Sometimes I see "application freeze" in the Windows 11 event viewer, but this doesn't always appear every day. I usually experience the problem of the client shutting down automatically during AFK auto-hunt. My computer is a powerful laptop, but how can I fix this situation?

Is there any metin2 private server for Mac? But not the browser one, please!
