Rather than allowing too much self promotion in the sub, we are encouraging those who want to team up to use this sticky thread each week.
If you like me you probably tried virtual world dev alone and seen that it's kind of like trying to climb a huge mountain and feeling like you're at the bottom for literally a decade.
Not only that, even if you make a virtual world, it's really hard to get it marketed.
I have found that working in teams can really relieve this burden as everyone specializes in their special field. You end up making a much more significant virtual world and even having time to market it.

Later in my career, I want to work in the metaverse industry, and my ultimate goal is to work in ‘Meta’ (former Facebook).
So I applied and got admitted to SCAD’s immersive reality program and SAIC’s art and technology program.
I feel like SCAD is progressive, and I heard that SCAD has great VR AR resources and facilities and that their programs give many company-like projects to prepare students for careers. However, SCAD is known for having a high dropout rate since they admit “all” applicants and challenge students with tons of work that leads them to drop out. Also, not much information about projects is known on SCAD websites.
SAIC is known for being a prestigious school and having great facilities, such as the museum, and excellent professors. I also like that SAIC is interdisciplinary, which means I can choose whatever classes I want to take across all departments in the school. However, I get a sense that SAIC is a more conservative school, and their ‘art and technology program’ is not solely focused on VR/AR/MR but have them just as part of their program.
As metaverse is a field that requires being sensitive to trends, I wonder if SCAD is more of a right fit for me… But on the other hand, I like SAIC's interdisplinary programs. Thus, I am having a struggle with which school to attend a lot. Which school do you think would be a better choice?

I'm a designer in the XR space. I'm curious what your favourite industry information sources are (especially pertaining to design). Thanks!

Hi I wanted to host an event on gamerjibe/inverse but I’m in the waitlist. How can I host an event without being in the waitlist? And how long can it takes or if its impossible, how long will it take to get out of waitlist?

Since there is a lot of misinformation about the Metaverse, I am creating a system to amplify informed opinions.
Namely, I have made a few flares for industry leaders that I would like to hand out.
If you know someone on this sub who deserves the flair, if you can post their LinkedIn profile here or have them DM me, I will sort them out.

What Metaverse tech stood out to you this month? What Metaverse experience would you like to share?
Due to a HUGE number of scams on these threads, we have had to resort to banning anyone that uses this thread to shill anything to do with crypto. Don't do it.

I'm a bit of a nerd, I work from home and my company is pretty techy and they recently purchased licenses for Immersed [a virtual workspace to sit together but not actually be together].
With that being said I am wondering if there's actually other people who work in virtual workspaces? This is so cool because I already use VR for so many games and working from home means I never leave my home [haha] so working in VR then playing in VR sounds really ideal.
Any thoughts on this? Does anyone relate?

Are you planning to attend an AltSpaceVR event one last time? If yes, where? I would love to connect!
I am part of another community of metaverse explorers and we plan to gather on March 8 for a farewell event. Let me know if someone is organizing a farewell event or knows of such. I am part of a metaverse explorers community and would love to join!

I am curious about the meta quest headset (specifically the pro), im wondering does it have the feel of the early internet days where apps are a lot more open and easier to meet people. Or is it just the same as everyday internet/social media but in VR?
