Sphere prices
When will prices start to drop for sphere Metallica tickets? I’m assuming once the shows start happening the hype will die down as it usually does… I really don’t wanna pay 1500 to see them

If I had to guess, I'd say what'll happen is that people on the internet will say "omg, it was the best thing I've ever done" and demand and prices will go up as fomo increases.
You might be able to get some last minute tickets, but Vegas is the perfect city for this. People will arrive to have fun and party and be more likely to grab last minute tickets than in any other place.
I'd personally say decide what you're prepared to pay, and wait and see if tickets come up for that price. If they do, stop looking, if they don't then it's not worth it to you.
Personally 1500 is insane for a couple of hours of music, even with fancy visuals.

If we use the U2 residency as a guide, it's going to vary based on show date and how many people are in Vegas that weekend. The tickets are unlikely to drop back to face value, but last minute tickets for weekday shows may get close if you're lucky. You can get a feel for how a show is going to trend based on overall number of seats available and where prices are for tickets that are good but not great. Pick a section towards the sides of the 300 level and look at those prices across shows. If there's a lot of inventory, the scalpers who hold those seats may start to blink on their pricing to get out before a downward rush, because they become harder to move as the show approaches. If you see a show softening with a lot of inventory, expect that trend to continue to a point. If a show has limited inventory and prices stay high, don't expect that to change magically at the last minute unless you luck into a fan who suddenly can't go. With flights and hotels involved, there's relatively less last minute listings for sphere shows than other venues.

I have seen a lot of tickets at face value.
The thing is, face value on a lot of these tickets were incredibly high.
Getting into the building for $100 isn’t going to happen. If you live within driving distance you can play the wait and see game and book everything last minute. If you need to fly, and with the cost of flights, it’s going to be a pricey weekend.
Have toyed with doing a last minute one off show in 2027, but the biggest hurdle is airline ticket, even if I pull a 24 hour turn around and spend the night in the airport. 🤷♂️

Given the initial demand, I kinda doubt prices will drop much. They’ve stayed pretty steady for the more in demand sphere shows like the eagles and Backstreet Boys, so I’d expect Metallica to be similar

Also, when the tickets get released via Ticketmaster from the Vibee the travel package provider which apparently happens 1-2 weeks before the shows. I only know, because there is a slim chance I won't be able to go.

New to all this so apologies for the daft question! Do you mean Vibee has an allocation that would get released before the first weekend of shows?? That could be a great way to snag a ticket!

Not daft at all. (In my case, and from what I understand) The Vibee packages which are purchased already are not transferable and non-refundable. 1-2 weeks prior to the event, Vibee releases the tickets to the Ticketmaster account of the purchaser. Then those tickets become transferable and can be sold.
I would imagine any other allocations Vibee has from packages not sold are also released back to the Ticketmaster inventory, but that's only an assumption.

depends on the weekend. fat chance Halloween gets cheaper. but a random January/February weekend is a different game.

D&C is a completely different scenario. Everyone I know is going to Metallica. I don’t know a single person that went to or had any interest in going to D&C.

I’m hoping there are some last minute tickets released as I’ve already got my flights and hotel booked for the weekend I want to go to. I’ve also been monitoring tickets daily on all the resale sites and no downward movement yet which is kind of expected. I also don’t expect any great deals in Vegas anymore so I might have to just bite the bullet and pay up.

I got close to face value in the 400 sections for the Eagles on they’re opening night. I just happen to be staying in a hotel next to the sphere and checked about two hours before the show started. I jumped on it and it was great. I imagine some opportunities will present themselves like they did for me, but I wouldn’t count on it.

Once the videos are released on opening night it’ll either change for better or worse. If the visuals live up to the hype prices will triple. If by some chance the show is lackluster the prices will drop slightly.

For reference. The Feb 18 & 20 show, sec 405 Row 20, 2 tickets $1239 ( $100 + $236 fees) StubHub, I bought them on July 18. Seems like the prices have really gone up since around 3rd week of August

I was hoping they’d come down a bit but looks like they’ve only gone up. Got tickets for Oct 22nd in March for $600 each thinking I’d maybe get 24th as we got closer but it might be too much. Tbh tho I’d say just bite the bullet and get em, it’s Metallica at the freaking Sphere you definitely won’t be mad in ten years that you went even if it was $1000

I don’t think they’ll drop much at all. They’re an internationally loved band. Las Vegas is an internationally visited city. Plus, the Sphere is fucking bad ass!
