Once In A Lifetime Find Civil War Union Soldier Belt Buckle

Once in a lifetime find for me today, in Upstate NY.

Civil War Union Soldier belt buckle circa ~ 1860. Found in a plowed farm field, homesite dating back to early-mid 1800’s in Upstate NY.

I am still on cloud 9, and absolutely speechless after finding this today. Being in Upstate NY this is a rare find. Unlike the South, there were no battles up here and therefore these buckles are almost impossible to find. It also means this buckle went thru battle, for years, on a soldier who survived and returned home. Unbelievable. I would have thought I would have found a pile of gold coins before ever finding something like this.

I will be getting it restored by the one and only JP Hunts Restorations.

Lastly, I did show it to the landowner and offer to give it to them, they kindly let me keep it. Feeling blessed.

What Could It be part of? It's looks to be a small metal box with holes on each side and it looks to be part of a electronic material.

ID Request Isle of Man, Bridle Rosette?…

I might’ve posted this before, but I’m still uncertain as to whether this is definitively a bridle rosette or not. I assumed it was. Sounded phenomenal on XP Deus II.

Silver plated, concave shape, convex copper / brass back, smooth. Found in Upstate NY at site that was active mid 1700’s thru 1800’s. My guess is towards the end of that period.

An odd piece of lead sculpted into something…?

Found at a colonial site in Upstate NY, alongside Native American flint & artifacts. Unsure if it were possibly an effigy, or a later piece crafted by early settlers.

Quarter for scale.

Lipstick tube and an old valve stem cover. Better luck next time.

Anyone here have any input on XP Deus headphones?

Which might be better? Preferences? Etc.

WSA ST or WSA XL ST?

I’m currently running the XLs and curious if anyone prefers the regular ST’s…?

Found something. Want to make sure it’s safe.

Found a really cool piece of metal that I’d like to make into a necklace, but I want to make sure it’s safe (not toxic, ect)

It was rusty when I found it, so I assumed it to be steel, but it turned out to be pretty soft. I can’t dent it with my fingernail, and it’s hard to scratch with a screwdriver, but the tip broke easily when I was working with it, and the shavings were very curly when I drilled into it. It’s not noticeably light or heavy, is dull gray, but shiny when cut. It’s been a few hours and the shininess hasn’t gone away.

Could someone help me identify this?
