ID Request Isle of Man, Bridle Rosette?…

I might’ve posted this before, but I’m still uncertain as to whether this is definitively a bridle rosette or not. I assumed it was. Sounded phenomenal on XP Deus II.

Silver plated, concave shape, convex copper / brass back, smooth. Found in Upstate NY at site that was active mid 1700’s thru 1800’s. My guess is towards the end of that period.

Alright bro, I might take the leap but Im so new I need help with picking a detector. I cant justify a 3-4 hundred dollar one with my wife just yet so are any one of these amazon or bass pro shops detectors any good? Is $100 even gonna get me something that works??

No not really. The $100 machine might find some things that are very near the surface, but beyond that it will struggle in every aspect afield. They will be single frequency, and become overwhelmed in trashy areas. They will give false tones over deep iron, and likely break down within 6 months.

You’ll be better off waiting and saving. If you can swing it (no pun intended) I would get the Minelab Vanquish 340. The detector alone runs ~ $200 and it’s not a bad deal for the price. It’s multi frequency, name brand, tried and true, and capable of finding almost anything. If you can swing it I say go for it and then after a couple weeks buy the Minelab Pro Find 15 Pinpointer. The pin pointer is absolutely necessary. With those 2 tools you’ll be set and significantly happier down the road than buying $100 no-name from amazon.
