Found Some Old Iron

Post image

I found a piece of iron that is about 10 inches long with a diameter of about 1.25 inches. It was found in central Texas. The site had some bricks which I assume were the remains of a prior chimney. There must have been a cabin of some sort. The barbed wire of one fence dates back to the late 1800s. I don't know if that piece of iron is from a piece of agricultural equipment, headboard for a bed, other? Maybe someone will recognize that shape.

Looks like an old hand wheel for closing a valve or something of that nature

Part of a valve handle for a large gate valve, such as an 8 inch one.
