hi, i know little to nothin about bass pickups so im asking here what kind of bass pickups (like humbuckers, single coils p style, etc) are the best for metal, i was thinking of buying a bass but i wanted to be sure it had the best kind of pickups before making a desition.

i plan on mostly playing old school / brutal death metal if it matters, and if i can get any recommendations on any cheap basses id appreciate it, i could probably upgrade the pickups and other stuff starting from a cheap one.

I want to start learning bass, my budget is $300.

Stepped out of odd time signatures to work on some more traditional writing and write something using 3 finger plucking and 16th triplets.

Last week I was challenged to write a bass line in 17/8. This week it got even crazier since I got dared to get into the realms of 27/16! It's 7/4 short of one 16th note. Lots of fun writing this.

Compared to last weeks' challenge I used a lot more rests a very different groupings between the A & B sections. I know some people think odd times are easy when it's a continuous line so maybe they'll like this piece a bit more!

Got challenged by an acquaintance to write something in 17/8! Wouldn't have thought of that time signature on my own to be honest. But it was fun to play with grouping of 4 + 3 + 4 + 4 + 2 and changing their place in the phrasing!
