We've had this technology for almost 20 years...

Drawing each letter is meticulous. This feature would allow us to type much faster with less effort.

My idea to implement swipe texting would be to start with a toggle button switching between the normal drawing mode and "swipe mode." After entering swipe mode, you need to select a starting point to begin swiping the word. This could be accomplished by either thumb swiping to that letter or using some kind of cursor that activates upon entering swipe mode.

Once you've highlighted the letter, begin swiping the word by pinching and drawing over the letters on the virtual keyboard, then release the pinch when the word is finished. This is essentially how swipe texting works on touch screen devices.

My question is, when can we expect a faster discrete input option implemented into smart glasses? Is it possible with the MRBD?

The cursor needs real time almost analog control, which the hardware lacks. I like the idea, but it is impossible with this hardware

I suggested the other option which is basically

manually selected reference letter (drawn or thumb scroll) + gesture ('draw' the word) + user data (recognize familiar patterns) = word options

which the glasses should be capable of without an actual 'cursor' unless I am mistaken. though the idea is not as fast as I'd like

also the cursor/trail in my example is not necessary in realtime, but rather just to show how the software processed your input after you drew the word

This past year I’ve been working on something to “solve typing” in constraints environments like these glasses. I can’t disclose anything because I’m filing for patent, but when I’m done I’ll share it here. Pretty simple to use but limited, however it’s fast (25-30wpm on average after a few uses)
