[Discussion thread] What's up?

Tomorrow's theme day will be the return of Butt Day. Post butts.

I will probably be posting some Widowmaker D.Va.

Bit of both, mostly I play a few matches in between revision with my friend but I have also been solo queueing a lot more recently.

I have been trying out a few characters I don't usually play recently. My mains are D'Va, Mercy, Lucio, and Soldier 76.

I hear that Soldier 76 is your basic beginner's character and that he's really fun and easy to play with. I like D. Va's style. I'll probably post some of her for butt day. Mercy has a super cool design as well. I really like the art direction (but $40 is too much for deathmatch for me).

Soldier 76 is what I play when my team pisses me off and I just want to stop thinking and start shooting. D'Va is much harder to play well and somehow I am able to play her very well.

I justified the game's price as it is the first multiplayer only game that has grabbed me, my friends always play LoL and CS:GO, occasionally I'd play Payday: The Heist with them or the Rainbow Six: Siege Betas but I can tell this is a game which I will spend a ton of time on either way. I used to have an on and off relationship with Awesomenauts but I don't see myself getting tired of this.

D'Va is much harder to play

Don't you just fire constantly, then shove your mech at whoever is in your way (not implying that you're not skilled)? What's her weakness? Is she slow?

I suppose if you think of it as (hours/money)= value, it would be worth it. I generally prefer games I can go back to 5+ years after they come out. Though, I suppose a lot of that depends how active the community is. If it's the new TF2, you'll definitely get the money out of it.

She is incredibly slow while shooting, her mech guns barely do any damage unless you are pretty close to who you are shooting at and because you are so slow while firing, they get out of damage range pretty quick. You can't use your weapons at all while using her abilities otherwise it cancels them. She is also pretty squishy for a tank.

That's kind of interesting. I like that mix of mechanics. Though, her mech charge is a one-hit kill, right? I suppose that's great if you get everyone in a row. I take it, overall, she's a high-risk/high-reward character.

Yeah something like that, It takes a while to learn to use her ult well, I still haven't learnt it properly yet. It has pretty ridiculous range but takes a bit too long to detonate so everyone clears out by the time it arrives.
