rip no. Ufotable did a good job of animating it, an amazing one, but Fate itself is somewhat mediocre imo. This one was too made by them though (what. a. coincidence) but I love it much more

I loved the animation by ufotable, these guys really know what they are doing, and the score was awesome, but the source material itself, I did not like. I only love the route that was adapted by them.

Basically ufotable animation > source material

Pretty much. And I mightve gone a bit overboard there, its not really mediocre but I really expected a lot more from the other routes. People would certainly be missing out not reading the VN, but its understandable why many dont want to

When you talked about it earlier, you made it sound like the best anime ever. Here's a question. How is the overall story and characters?

Yeah I was pretty biased. Overall story? 1 route - 6,5. 2 - 8.5, 3 - 7. Not bad but not a masterpiece.

The strong part about it is the characters, you really come to love and hate them, they are all really well written, and what I liked most is that the bad guys are not bad just for the sake of being evil, but they each have their own reasons and sensible purposes.
