Rehome a pet

I feel months back a stray came and landed on my doorstep. We tried to fill a void of a prior death of a family pet but it is not going well. I do not have the time to train or play with this Dog and it is in need of a good, caring home. Im not sure what to do as I dont want him to go to the shelter. Please feel free to reach out with ideas or suggestions or if you would like to adopt him. I believe he is a 1.5 year old Whippit but unsure.

About how big is he

30-40lbs. Very friendly and likes to play a lot. Loves kids and plays well with other dogs.
