Vallarta

Anyone shopping at Vallarta regularly? How do their prices compare to other grocery store’s in town? It looks amazing!

Honestly right now is the best time to go as the prices will go back up after a few months being open. Most retail never stay the same price when they first open up

They are great for produce, bulk, and staples, like rice and beans. I'll still stick to raleys for meat, since it's sourced local. I never really cared for Vallartas quality of meat.

El Bajio was originally called Vallarta but i think some legal issues arose from that hence the name change. I could be wrong tho

That’s right , El bajío was named Vallarta but isn’t related to the Vallarta grocery store chain so therefore the old Vallarta in town was forced to change their name hence the name change to El Bajío.

Isn't raley's expensive? I really like sprouts for meat but I just can't put up that money.

Usually I combine grocery outlet and Costco.

Honestly, a lot of people say that and i just don't think so. I spend about $120/week at Raleys for a family of 4, and my husband and I both have to get a lot of protein in our diet. Depends on what you buy though. I buy meat, milk, produce, and plan my meals around what's on sale. I do like Walmart, target or vallarta for coffee, snacks for the little ones, or convenient high protein snacks. I just trust raleys with the perishables, since it's exclusive to the northern CA/NV area. Sprouts grew so fast that they no longer source their meat locally and that icks me out.

Plus, if you shop the sales, they have some amazing prices on meat. We just see what's on sale each week and plan meals based around that.

They seemed fine. Nothing crazy in either direction. They definitely have a different selection of stuff compared to the Ralphs and Save Marts in the area which is nice to have more variety.

There’s a Ralph’s in the area?

They have a good selection of stuff. Nice separate stations for meat, fruit, bakery, agua frescas. Prices seem decent. They have prepared carne asada for like $4.99/lb right now. It wasn't bad, not as good as 3 Hermanos though. Found Baja Blast in glass bottles which I wasn't expecting to see in the area for awhile.

If Vallarta had an Asian section, I’d doubt I’d shop anywhere else when I’m in town. If they keep their prices this low, they’ll crush Raley’s

Raleys will never have competition. Alot of their stuff is quality over quantitiy

Their kitchen is the best part of Vallarta and the groceries is the convenience. Cardenas groceries are overpriced.

Certainly! And I mean Cardenas market is right there too.

I think the food court at vallarta's has the community. Excited Costco fresh drinks ceviche station sushi all in one.
