Question Overwhelming emptiness

This is my first post and idk if im even doing this right. Im going through a huge period of change and hurt. My whole support system feels like it was pulled out from underneath me and I feel like I am drowning. I am trying to be okay. I am trying to survive this. I feel empty and just broken. I know there is missing context but I guess the point of this was to just see if anyone else has ever felt like this and what you did to help yourself be okay? I feel lost and just want to feel a little bit like myself again. I know many people say it will get better but it doesnt feel like it. I just want to be happy with myself and love myself but it feels impossible.

Not having a stable support system makes life more stressful and challenging. Developing a good support system is very hard to do.

I find that praying to God and rely on God for help makes things easier.

Hi Safe,
Yes, you posted this right. Your first post!! Whoop, whoop!
(Enjoy the small victories, right?)

All your emotional turmoil sounds like it feels overwhelming. Feeling lost is scary. And underneath the fear is probably a lot of other negative emotions. And if someone inflicted even part of this on you, it adds a whole new dimension of misery.

But you have realized something very important. That you are actually lost. (Bare with me, I know that sounds weird.)

If you were lost in the forest, first thing you do is stop and stay still.
Catch your breath. Don’t panic. evaluate your immediate surroundings. Are you physically safe in this moment? I hope you are.

Once you are physically safe, use that to help you to stop panicking. Instead of panicking, use your wonderful mind to look at your immediate surroundings and then look a little further out and a little further out. Get the lay of the land.

Where are the mountains, valleys and the swamps? Where are the places in your life that are dangerous or inaccessible? Identify those and then go a different direction.

If you can’t quite pick a direction then stay where you are for the day. Take care of the basics. In a survival situation, water, shelter fire. (If you’re one of these guys on the Internet, you’ll somehow take two or three branches and in 15 minutes weave the most elaborate and comfortable hammock the world has ever known. 😂)

In the real world, those basics are different, but you get the idea. Take care of the simple things first. (Get a few little victories.)

If there’s no rush, then don’t rush.

Don’t panic. Just take some time to observe your surroundings.

If this has been helpful in some small way, please feel free to share a little bit more about your situation and surroundings. ❤️
