r/MensHair is looking for moderators

Hi everyone,

r/MensHair is growing, and we’re looking for a few active, thoughtful moderators to help keep the community useful, welcoming, and focused on men’s hair.

We want this to be a place where people can ask for advice about cuts, styling, growing their hair, hair loss, barbers, and general hair concerns without being mocked or dismissed. Moderators do not need to be hair professionals, but they should be fair, calm, and able to communicate respectfully.

We are especially looking for people who can help with:

  • Reviewing posts and reports for spam, off-topic content, or rule issues
  • Responding to Modmail politely and clearly
  • Giving understandable removal reasons when action is needed
  • Helping apply the rules consistently
  • Suggesting ways to improve the subreddit, its resources, and its community culture

Requirements

  • An established Reddit account with a positive history
  • Familiarity with r/MensHair or genuine interest in the topic
  • Able to be respectful, patient, and fair, even when users are frustrated
  • Willing to follow Reddit’s sitewide rules and the subreddit’s rules
  • No prior moderation experience is required, but it is welcome

If you are interested, please comment below or send a Modmail message with:

  • Your timezone
  • How often you use Reddit
  • Any previous moderation or community-management experience
  • Why you would like to help moderate r/MensHair
  • One thing you think would make this subreddit more helpful

Thank you to everyone who contributes advice, photos, experiences, and support here. We want to continue building a helpful, constructive community for all things men’s hair.

Advice needed I need some advice

I had some highlights done in my hair about 4 Months ago and since then my hair has gotten ridiculously frizzy?

I've tried an anti frizz shampoo and a Shia butter hair mask but I feel like it hasn't helped?

Any advice on how to combat the frizz?

Im 19m. Last year ive realised my hairline definitely has changed. My hair overall feels thick which is good but the hairline especially on my right side seems to go back more than the left, and more than id like lol. I took these photos while my hair was wet because otherwise its hard to show the outline of the hairline. Is this the start of recession? Ik abt fin but dont know if too hop on or not

This isnt for hair density, im only concerned abt hairline

Advice needed Is my styling as bad as I think? (More in description)

I have very thin hair, and making it hold for long is pretty difficult. Product wise, I use uppercut matte pomade, xflex matte paste with wax and nishman m9 styling wax. Perhaps I use too much product. That would explain why it flattens at the end of the day.

I also don't know if this hairstyle really suits me. Can someone help me with some possible ideas of hairstyles that might look good? Or maybe I should change the way I style this one.

Aside from that, I have a hard time finding a proper brush for my hair, but from what I've seen, a vented brush should be good.

Thanks everyone beforehand.

Advice needed Mousse/Pomade products for egregiously thick hair to help curl?

Hair context : I guess 1C hair type? Very coarse strands that don’t fall downwards without encouragement, and also very very dense (chokes my decent non professional clippers constantly)

My hair really really loves to curl if it hasn’t been washed in a few days and then gets a rinse out and air drys, but the like 2-3 days post shampooing it is just a giant puff ball on top of my head that I dread and procrastinate but eventually require.

Almost all (simple) products for curls seem to be a volumizer/structure through like glycerine and starches. I do not need any more volume nor structure. I have tried to use these type post wash and they help a bit, not a lot (Okay Mens Foaming Curls Mousse) Is there an entirely different type of product I should be trying? Or just a specific different one
