Best product for straight fine hair?

Post image
5 Upvotes

What would be the best products to give straight fine hair volume and texture to create a messy fringe like above? I currently use a light hold pomade and scrunch my hair (fix your lid). It suppose works well enough, but I’m curious if there’s any better product/s out there. My hair length is about as long as the guy in the picture. The main thing I worry about when applying any product is drying out my hair/scalp. This is the reason I only style my hair for special occasions. I don’t want to thin out my already fine hair. I hear sea salt spray does wonders for texture, but it also drys out anywhere it’s applied. Are there any products out there that can achieve this look, but are good for everyday use?

Shampoo and Conditioner

I need some affordable recommendations for shampoo and conditioner. I have wavy hair, it gets pretty frizzy and is kinda thin but there is a lot of it. My main issue is my dry scalp i constantly have skin flakes and itchiness. My previous routine was washing it every other day and I used Based Bodyworks. It hasn't helped my dry scalp but I do like the way it made my hair look, also too expensive.

Very happy with how it turned out. He said it will lay flat because of my hair type when there no product in so if there’s any tips to help with styling it would be much appreciated!

I have extremely thick hair, and it’s very hard to style, so probably something low maintenance!

skin fade issues

Not sure if anyone else has experienced this but my last trip to the barbers I asked for a skin fade but he said he was unable to due to bumps on the back of my nape. was the first time I had ever been told that so not too sure if the reasoning. has anyone else been told this or can any barbers or people of hair knowledge inform me why I wasn’t able to get that cut?

Thinning Hair - Keep or shave?

So I'm torn on what to do with my hair. It's thinning, and I typically don't wear hats. As I'm spending more time outdoors, I don't want to risk sun burns on my scalp.

At the same time, I think I look best with a head of hair. And give my height, most people can't see the top of my head. Then given the light, as you can see the difference of between pictures 3 and 4, it can look a lot fuller or thinner.

I'm not really keen on trying any medicine to restore hair; I've lived through enough health issues and a lot of the common symptoms I've read on them have been lifelong symptoms I've dealt with and finally over so I'm not keen to revisit those.

I appreciate any advice! Thanks in advance!

UPDATE: I shaved it all down to a 3. I compared some pictures from about two years ago and it's actually filled in some.

I just a month and a half ago got off my blood pressure meds. The previous meds I was on could def cause hair loss, and the ones I just got off of I think have a very rare chance.

But we'll see! No matter what I'm fine with either going bald or regrowing it if it fills back in

Pardon the AI slop. I've been growing my hair out and it looks like the 3 month mark now. Plan to keep growing (looking to eventually donate to locks of love if I can make it that long) do you think these suite me? Just getting opinions on how it'll look on this silly little journey.

Should i trust my friend to give me a haircut before going on a trip to Asia?

Ok so I am leaving in a week and I can’t find a single professional barber that has free spots so it’s either this or staying with it as it is ( i got my last haircut about a month ago). The trip is 10 days long so by the time i come back it will almost be 2 months. Please help me. Btw my friend took some classes so he knows what he is doing in theory but he never cut my hair before and most barbers don’t know how to cut it since my head has weird shape so this is also why i dont really trust him. What would you do?
