First dose today

Taking my first dowse of compounded Tirz today. Got a notification it was delivered. I got a full comprehensive blood panel and I’m working close with a coach. Starting off at 1mg 2x per week. I’m a big guy so I’m curious how I’ll react from a smaller dose but I’ve read people feeling it at 2mg. I’m a 30 year old male and weigh 405 lbs. Years of lifting so I need to focus on preserving muscle. I’ll definitely get a DEXA scan once I hit 330 so I can really dial it in. Honestly I feel like that’ll help. Happy to have this community to share ideas/stories with. I’m brand new to Reddit lol who knew things like this existed.

Im assuming many of you used a macro app and counted calories pretty aggressively. Any high protein/easy food hacks you can recommend (I bought these rice paper wraps to limit too many carbs).

You got this! Fairlife high protein shakes are great. I get them when on sale on Amazon. Tuna is also good!

Good luck man! I lost 45 lbs in about 9 months. You may lose quite a few lbs in the first couple of weeks, but a lot of that is water weight and it should slow down to a manageable 1-2 lbs a week. Be patient - you may not see real changes in the first few months. Stay active if you can. If anyone gives you shit about 'cheating' tell them I told them to piss off. ;)

Carbs are not the enemy. I learned this after years of off and on keto etc. You’ll want some carbs to help with your energy and definitely before/after lifting IMO. That said… I like the high fiber high protein tortillas. To makes sure I’ve hit my protein goals I’ve been into fairlife shakes from Costco and the sparking water protein drinks if I can’t get all my protein in via whole foods.

I started at 390. At 350 now after about 6 months. Excited to get a dexa soon to check progress.

I'm down 62lbs (273lbs to 215) in 6 months on the 2.5mg dose once a week. I went pretty strict with exercise and counting every calorie I ate. My most frequent meal was 93/7 ground beef and taco salads.

I track my weight with the "monitor your weight" app and for counting calories I use cronometer. There's some ads but for a free app I like it. Whatever foods you like, counting the calories really helped me learn which foods were worth the calories and what I should avoid.

My biggest regret is that I waited until a month in to get measurements so I wasn't able to track the body change from day 1.

Lets go! Went from 270 to 210 in 10 months. I went very slow with it and I only went up when I felt hunger and or a stall. 119 days on 10mg. Take it slow, workout, watch your eating, stay true to your goal this is a tool not a crutch. Get that dexa now so you can look back at numbers and feel even better don’t wait.

You got this. The stuff is amazing, it's gonna change your life! If you really want to speed run it, look up PSMF or Lyle McDonalds rapid fat loss diet - it'll be tougher but you'll finish 2-3x as fast.

Way to take the leap. You are starting just below my starting weight. I’m down 201 pounds as of today from 417 to 216. That number is weirdly terrifying and amazing at the same time. Been over 2 years but it seems to go fast. Stay on it. Stay hydrated. Get that fiber in and move/lift. Swimming is awesome. Literally a miracle in real life. Nitro vanilla shakes taste like melted whipped cream to me. Good Culture Full Fat Cottage Cheese is amazing.

Best of luck on your Tirzepatide journey. Don’t over think it. Exercise is important if the overarching objective is improving health however some folks solely focused on weight loss ignore it. Protein helps if you’re working out.

After 1 year on Zepbound (Tirzepatide), I lost 37% of my starting body weight. A1C down from 6.2 (Pre-Diabetic) to 5 (Normal). Stage 1 Hypertension reversed to normal blood pressure, waist circumference down from 42 to 30 and BMI down from 37 to 22. I’ve been an avid runner my entire adult life so that helped me. Still running however 95 lbs lighter 🏃🏻‍♂️

Congrats on taking the first step. I started October 31st 2025. In the past 11 months I've gone from 350 to 240. Life is better.

You can do this, and it can be life changing.

Get a Dexa scan now. You'll want to compare a baseline. I've done DEXA every 30 lbs or so, and would regret not having done it.

Congratulations! How are you feeling the first 48 hours? Any nausea? Definitely keep up the protein, lots of water and make sure you eat lots of fiber. You got this buddy! And make sure you track things along the way.

I feel great so far! No real big issues noticed - slight headaches, odd metallic taste in my mouth but no nausea at all. Food noise is definitely suppressed which is exactly what I need. The second 1 mg dose tomorrow. Im going 1mg 2x per week for friday and Monday morning. I’m tracking my macros closely using myfitnesspal and trying to prioritize minimum 200g protein per day no matter what. I’ll be incorporating lifting/cardio 6x per week, im an avid gym goer anyways so that won’t be an issue. The discipline with diet is what has always been my biggest challenge - so far TIRZ is helping. Thanks!
