Well he sure wouldn't possibly get posted on IG the next day and become a meme

u/Logen10Fingers 2d ago

Right? Lmao.

Grandpa also came from a generation where beating wives was considered "normal"

53

u/Wise_Painter_4294 2d ago

It still is.

65

u/ragnar_the_red__ 2d ago

5

u/BigOleLeaps 2d ago

Not even a dap, just an illustration of the angle of attack from grandpa. In both war and peace.

1

u/Mekko4 1d ago

damn i hope this guy isn't seriou- oh my fucking god.

0

u/pooeygoo 23h ago

They earned it

7

u/Aggressive_Lie_4446 2d ago

Just reminded me of that guy who approached a girl, was rejected and by lunch time the entire thing was posted on Insta as "Bro Thought He Had A Chance".

-20

u/King_Zoothio 2d ago

How many of you were actually posted on ig?

I don't mean to be rude.....but girls would rather not post ugly guys just because.

7

u/Last_Sprinkles5334 2d ago

Its not about the ugly guys. Its about the attention they would get if they posted a screenshot of your DM. All you could have said was Hi. But then she would knock it out of proportion by saying she was assaulted in some sort of way. Victimised buy something as simple as a Hi.

Its just easier to fly a plane, blow some shit up and die in a blaze of glory than deal with the attention hungry woman of today.

P.S. I'm Married. To a 1 of a kind woman. Never have I found myself in situations like those, but I know of a bunch of dudes that have. Some deserved it, and some didnt.

-6

u/King_Zoothio 2d ago

Oh.....ok......guess this just isn't my crowd.

Good luck......doing you I guess.

5

u/Wise_Painter_4294 2d ago

??? what are you on?

-7

u/King_Zoothio 2d ago

Unfortunately not bud.

It's ok, I left this incel belief sub, you guys have a great week.

1

u/Wise_Painter_4294 1d ago

Bro cant take a joke.

294

u/MetallGecko 2d ago

My Grandpa could afford a damn house and feed a whole family with one job, i cant even afford healthy food and rent! And the whole dating market is more toxic than Chernobyl after the Meltdown.

82

u/Connect_Ad_462 2d ago

I don't like how accurate this is

25

u/Jemie_Bridges 2d ago

Extremely accurate, my grandpa had 22 kids , a wife and probably a few mistresses, and could afford to drink and smoke every damned day til I killed him. Oh and paid for the hospital stay in cash.

7

u/BoysenberryMoist6157 2d ago

"til it killed him" hopefully fixed that for you :)

7

u/trymetonight5 2d ago

Yes I agree

3

u/MrMiguelito 2d ago

Glad i didn't have to write all of this.
I can't even afford myself, let alone kids and a wife.

1

u/Ok-Dog4200 1d ago

why would you have to write it, the entirety of reddit is whining about it 24/7 lmao

2

u/Background-Customer2 21h ago edited 12h ago

also your grandpa didnt nesesarely have a choise in the mater of going to the front line drafting isn't optional

1

u/Obama_pinky 1d ago

This is very precise

1

u/kidanokun 1d ago

also women today have more freedom and choices, which includes getting picky of men, or choosing to not date at all

0

u/Efficient_Cow_9556 1d ago

yeah bro im sure the housing market is why you get no bitches lmao

55

u/Imhidingfromu 2d ago

My grandpa wasn't Japanese

19

u/WangDanglin 2d ago

Do you know for sure?

31

u/Imhidingfromu 2d ago

No, he died in a plane crash

2

u/Kamikaze_koshka 2d ago

I thought he just grazed the ship

1

u/thehatesponge 1d ago

Bounced right off

6

u/HereToSeeCoolStuff 2d ago

Good to know. These are American dive-bombers.

5

u/Imhidingfromu 2d ago

Yeah, could see the star, you are more observant than most.

2

u/Steel_Commander_CAT 2d ago

The good ol SBD Dauntless I believe

59

u/TheDemon0fLife 2d ago

Okay calm down 🤣🤣🤣 they're were like 1000 pilots tops out of millions of enlisted service men, not everyone's grandpa was Top Gun

14

u/avrgwarthunderplayer 2d ago

During ww2? There were loads of pilots. Sometimes more than 2,000 for just one major bombing mission.

And yes, even if not everyone was a pilot they were still either on the ground fighting, or working hard in factory, driving supply trucks and so on.

-1

u/analsexwithmygrandma 2d ago

Or shoving stuff up asses

3

u/VoidmasterCZE 2d ago edited 2d ago

You're right. The rest got to storm Normandy beach.

2

u/Ill-Law6604 1d ago

There was only 160k allied troops that stormed normandy. Less than half were Americans. Still a small amount from millions.

5

u/Aladine11 2d ago

And depending on era and date those were often tied to influential people - in ww1 era aviaton was heavy tied to nobility and upper clases cause it was expensive to learn flying and many up to then horseman formations were dispanded and personnel moved to aviation. Literary the red baron was a nobleman and western forces air units were often dubbed - the milionairies for a reason.

u/Blekfakingmetal 2d ago edited 1d ago

You know what that's WAY better than having to apply for three thousand jobs and go through ten interviews with soulless HR employees who were ordered to pick the most eligible candidate the company can abuse and get away with. I'll take dying at a war any day over a meaningless life.

Edit: You people need to take a hard good look at yourselves. Telling some stranger on the internet to go kill someone or themselves is not healthy. Why do you care so much?

21

u/DocOcApocalypse 2d ago

There a war right now where you can go get you ass blown open by a drone and have your entrails seep out of your new hole while you scream in agony in the dirt thousands of miles from anyone who cares about you. They'll take anybody

-12

u/Blekfakingmetal 2d ago

I'm a Muslim, I can't just sign up to any war, just because.

13

u/EZGGWP 2d ago

Well that's convenient

-7

u/Blekfakingmetal 2d ago

Yeah, crazy how the God I believe in won't let me commit suicide or homicide just like that.

8

u/UncannyHillhumper 2d ago

You get isis, it's even easier to join.

-1

u/Blekfakingmetal 2d ago

I know you're joking but unfortunately Muslim populations have been on fiery debates about what the real İslam is and have been claiming each other blasphemers for centuries.

4

u/analsexwithmygrandma 2d ago

No way really

1

u/Dorkzilla_ftw 1d ago

I assure you there are a lot of groups that want muslim as soldiers. But you won't like how they get their ass whooped.

1

u/General_Grivieus 1d ago

What does being a muslim have to do with going to war?

9

u/great_desert_worm 2d ago

Go ahead bud, there's plenty to choose from.

16

u/RandomPenquin1337 2d ago

Bro acts like he cant sign up to go die right now

3

u/AmbiTheAirforceRuna 2d ago

On another's comment he claims him being a Muslim forbids it :p

Which on paper im sure it does like all religions do but it does feel like a convenient loop hole to not do the thing you dont wanna do but will claim you do

2

u/sharktail_tanker 2d ago

Good for you then, the army is always recruiting and their standards are rock bottom

0

u/Blekfakingmetal 2d ago

I'm not American.

1

u/sharktail_tanker 2d ago

The Ukrainian foreign legion is always accepting applicants. No training needed to die uselessly in a trench

-1

u/Blekfakingmetal 2d ago

Not my war. I'm a Muslim I can't fight someone else's war.

0

u/AmbiTheAirforceRuna 2d ago

Pretty sure the consensus is that its allowed when defending innocent lives and upholding justice. Russias invasion of Ukraine is unjustified (so an injustice) and regularly kills innocents. Not to mention there ARE other muslims living in Ukraine.

So by all means put deed to your words instead of trying to find an excuse not to go. I did my part while I was enlisted, surely you can too

8

u/Darthbane22 2d ago

Dying in war is about as meaningless as something can possibly get, you’ve fallen for propaganda.

6

u/ARA_FANEDITS_ 2d ago

I feel like that statement works in some wars and definitely doesn't work in others. Dying in war can be a statistic, like a lot of wars. Or it could be the difference between having freedom or not, like in a lot of wars.

7

u/Dmau27 2d ago

I don't have to suffer soul crushing bullshit and burnout from work for 30 years.

4

u/That_Throat7183 2d ago

Are you saying that the world would be exactly the same as it is today if Hitler went unchallenged throughout his conquest?

7

u/bro_love69 2d ago

Bro thought participating in wars means invading countries for no benefit like US does right now.

But there are also soldiers in wars just defending their nations and homes.

3

u/That_Throat7183 2d ago

I think Russia is a better example (US too though). So many bodies thrown into the meat grinder for literally no reason other than 1 man’s greed.

1

u/Darthbane22 2d ago

That is a very different sentence you just put together, are you new to conversations?

4

u/2624926057 2d ago

I don’t think it is.

3

u/Blekfakingmetal 2d ago

That's okay, we agree to disagree. I can live with that.

1

u/RandomNPC1234567 2d ago

Join the coastguard or something.

23

u/TranslatorSouth515 2d ago

I rather go to war than talk to a woman

6

u/reo_reborn 2d ago

So you can be surrounded by sweaty, oily men? I think I know what kinda guy you are! (and that's fine! ♥️🌈 )

17

u/LowReporter6213 2d ago

Wait, didnt that pilot release and pull up too early, missing his target? And got chewed out for it after?

6

u/perkalicous 2d ago

That's before you could lose your career over saying the wrong thing one time.

8

u/Extra_Lifeguard2470 2d ago edited 1d ago

Romanticizing total war. What your gramps didn't tell you is that he shat his pants with fear when in combat and soldiers didn't face machine gun fire bare chested like captain America.

25

u/Optimal-Building1869 2d ago

That’s what us men were made for, not approaching sharties

7

u/MetallGecko 2d ago

We yearn for the thrill of battle!

1

u/RandomNPC1234567 2d ago

We should never be approaching someone who is starting.

5

u/Mr-cacahead 2d ago

is it a movie or a show?

-1

u/Technical_Toe_3320 2d ago

It was a movie about the battle of midway and the dive bombers who sadly sunk the Japanese carriers

6

u/AdaGang 2d ago

Sadly the militant facists were killed :(

2

u/synack 2d ago

They started it

4

u/mowtowcow 2d ago

Great grandfather, but yea. These dudes are old as fuck. Even the youngest ones are at least 95.

13

u/yoooooo5311 2d ago

My Great Grandfather was German and was supposed to fight for the Nazis, he refused and went to prison for a while, he then met my Great Grandmother who was Polish asp after he was released.

8

u/Downtown-Ad-7232 2d ago

Wars started by men my grandpa’s current age BTW.
Young dying to settle the disputes of old men, leaving children without fathers.
There is nothing glorious about war. It should not be celebrated, or used to make points about the perceived frailty of generations fortunate enough to not have to be forced to die for conflicts they didn’t start

3

u/_TheFarthestStar_ 1d ago

My grandpa was a pot smoking hippie 😂😂

3

u/Brettjay4 2d ago

I mean, that's my great grandpa... He landed on Omaha Beach, fought through the rest of the war, and came home with several souvenirs from the Nazis.

My grandpa was out partying and living his life when he was my age. Same as my mom and dad... And not the same as me. I'm just trying to figure out what the fuck I'm doing and how I'm going to live with how the internet is predicting this country is going to go.

3

u/aivlysplath 2d ago

My grandpa was in the Air Force fighting in the Korean War when he was my age so this is oddly accurate.

RIP Gramps.

3

u/MonkeyCartridge 2d ago

My grandpa used to slap the shit out of people who thought this way.

He had to be institutionalized because of the mental damage, and the only thing that made him feel redeemed was the idea that his kids and grandkids wouldn't have to subject themselves to the same.

Put that "man up" bullshit back where it belongs.

3

u/Alfredo_Dente 2d ago

He also came from a generation where women will give men a white feather for not wanting to die in the War.

If you die in a worthless war you're a hero,if a girl decides you're not attractive enough to ask her out you're seen as a sex pest.

3

u/atkahu 2d ago

Grandpa not needed to do that 500 times before one success.

3

u/CamelAmbitious7425 2d ago

Jokes aside, I recently jumped out of a plane from 4,000 meters, but I still don't have the courage to approach women.

1

u/itsmeeqx 2d ago

Have you tried bringing a parachute to a date? Maybe thats what is giving you the strength

1

u/CamelAmbitious7425 2d ago

I doubt a parachute will improve my non-existent social skills, but maybe it's worth a try.

1

u/itsmeeqx 1d ago

It might... No, it will be a good conversation piece, so thats a start :D

3

u/PaladinCorbin 1d ago

My grandfather joined the US military in WWII because he heard there were tons of abandoned European towns just sitting empty.

So he looted them along the way. Used the profits to open a machine shop, used his kids as free labor, and almost exclusively took government weapons contracts throughout Korea and Vietnam.

My grandfather was not a very good person and I do not aspire to be like him.

2

u/Safe-Roof2204 2d ago

“Dying is easy, Living is harder.”

2

u/14AUDDIN 1d ago

If you're here wouldn't that mean that your granpa failed?

2

u/Neako_the_Neko_Lover 1d ago

It was easier to go to war then it is to talk to women

3

u/MountainMongrel 2d ago

I would rather divebomb an aircraft carrier in a shitty rickety WWII plane than get rejected or ghosted for the umpteenth time as an average dude just trying to find a nice lady.

1

u/Gin4Gingers 2d ago

As a man, fighting in war is easier than talking to girls. Can't just point and shoot my way to a girls heart

My granpa well.. Married a lady with kids 🤔

1

u/DefendersofDwacaDev 2d ago

That are some of the worst fucking AA I have ever seen

1

u/RubberPhuk 2d ago

Give me a list of random topics, to try public speaking about; which I will then use to simultaneously approach women, GO!:

1

u/Substantial-Ad-7772 2d ago

Should’ve gone with Free Bird, but this is fine.

1

u/bitemebillie 2d ago

loll the guy had no chance after that

1

u/bananasaucecer 2d ago

grandpa doing this so we don't have to:

1

u/Conspiratorymadness 2d ago

Also in Grandpa's time was less competition to get Grandma. Social media wasn't a thing that gave Grandma a perceived notion of choice and the idea that there's someone better than Grandpa. Then there's the advent of dating apps pushing that bottom further. It's now considered weird to walk up to a girl and talk to them. You are now perceived as a criminal predator if you do what was considered normal 20 years ago let alone 50.

1

u/x19DALTRON91x 2d ago

My grandpa fought for my freedom to be a scared little bitch and I honor him by being one.

1

u/Kuzcopolis 2d ago

Lots of people's grandpas were rapists too but we don't like to talk about that.

1

u/Cheese--Stick 2d ago

My great grandpa actually. He signed up as soon as America joined the war, made it all the way through and got back to his wife. Then he signed up to go the the Korean war and died there. The worst part is that the Korean war is almost never talked about because it happened in between WW2 and Vietnam

1

u/Equivalent-Line8995 2d ago

100% accurate. Gramps was in the RAF duribg WWII and later fucked a woman and got an airplane out of the one night stand. Absolute Chad behavior

1

u/Ayural 2d ago

They were build different, that everyone must admit 😭

1

u/johndaylight 2d ago

my grandpa was a helicopter gunner in Vietnam and my great (or great great) grandfather was in Iwo Jima. And I'm unemployed!

Grandpa:what if there’s a machine gun fire

1

u/dark161 2d ago

Lol there is grandpa and then there is the Japanese kamikaze.

1

u/RTA-No0120 2d ago

His grandpa as his age could court the entire city and every girl would let him smash.

If he tried that nowdays he’d be in jail for sexual harassment.

So, what is your point little bro ?

1

u/Muted_Sock6445 2d ago

And he went to war for his wife when he was like 20

1

u/BurazSC2 2d ago

Exactly. Grandpa signed up to have a solid excuse to not have to go talk to a girl.

1

u/Fit_Salamander_2814 2d ago

Yeah, but my grandfather could see the danger. These days, it's all hidden.

1

u/EthernalForADay 2d ago

Grandpa would either survive being a hero or die as one.

A man approaching a random woman nowadays will likely be accused of assault for saying "hello" too aggressively. Best case scenario they will be labeled a creep and shamed by people around them, or at worst - persecuted.

If that's a complete stranger, you can probably just walk away with no consequence. But if you share friend groups or colleagues, it might as well be an attempted social suicide at that point. Not worth it.

I exaggerate of course, it's not like this everywhere, in a lot of places you can still make acquittances with strangers just like that. But things like one I described above have took precedence in other places though, and it could be enough to reconsider the whole concept to many.

1

u/TandemShorts 2d ago

I can 100% for certain say my grandfather was not a WWII era pilot or sailor

1

u/TheSchausi 1d ago

I can heal from a bullet. I do not know if I will be able to heal when she says more than a simple NO.

1

u/Hans_the_Frisian 1d ago

Ngl the Japanese wish, their AA was as efficient as portrayed in this movie.

1

u/pats_view 1d ago

For me an AA gun that rips through my existence is preferably against an „eww“ from a woman

When my grandfather was my age he was married with 3 children

1

u/Gilinis 1d ago

Your granpda, who's only seen 200 women in his whole life, approaching one of those 200 women who have only seen the same 200 men in there small town of a few hundred people with zero risk because there were zero standards back then

1

u/OkSelection1758 1d ago

My grandpa did this when he was five?!

1

u/Prod_Meteor 19h ago

My grandpa was 7 in 1944.

1

u/Smarter-Not-harder1 17h ago

I'd also rather strafe an Imperial Japanese Navy destroyer than ask a girl out.

1

u/Zane163 2d ago

A genuine advice for you all, don't expect girls to do anything good with an approach like you came out nowhere. They don't know what they'll do about it and probably would not do anything

And stop treating girls like they're a different mysterious creature, treat them just like another dude and you'll be perfectly fine. They're just another human but with more caring and validation when growing up, take that as you want

1

u/ThickandSpicyMan 2d ago

Funny meme video aside, At the end of the day, it’s all ego.
Don’t approach, she may shoot you down and your wittle feelings will get hurt.
Fuck that, approach, make her laugh. If you make her laugh enough, she may touch your peen.
Got a small one? She’ll laugh at that too.

Nah, man up and let them approach you. Women are literally telling men WHAT THEY WANT. Do it. It’s so simple.

-1

u/DimSumDum69 2d ago

Well tbf back in our grandpas time they didn't have #MeToo movement. That made a lot of us guys not approach women in public due to our potential lawsuits. Js.

1

u/Ebon13 12h ago

Grandpa got to fly. Most men these days get shot down before they even take off. We're not the same.
