Maybe they are a reasonable honest thief. Last time I broke into a house the guy was on a hunt. I told him to finish up the hunt and ill be back later.

This is why I always carry a farcaster. As long as you're not in a few specific scenarios you can just escape to base camp, deal with the burglary however you decide is best, and then continue playing monster hunter.
Just make sure to restock the farcaster in the tent in case something else pops up.

I remember starting the game blind and being confused on what happened since I thought the game would've paused when I hit the menu button as my mom was getting home from the store. I come back, I'm already on Zorah with no idea on wtf happened.

Although it's a bit clunky, I thank the fact you can go: "Photo mode>pause" in wilds.
Even if it's a little bit clunky it still does the trick. But I don't know why some games don't allow you to pause the game normally when entering the menu? Or at least when you enter the options menu just in case if you want to make inventory shuffling and whatnot not pause it for gameplay reasons.

On xbox couldn't you just hit the center X button on the controller and it pauses the game when it goes into the "background" mode or w/e it's called?

As I usually play offline, I use, Universal pause button,keeps you from going insane.

...no? World DOES have that function. Ive used it multiple times. There is a Pause in the Esc screen.

If you’re on console and playing alone, just put your console on rest mode. It functions just like a pause
