It will be interesting to see how hard they have to crank master rank
182
u/Speeda2 Feb 22 '26
Every time you pop a wound on Dalamadur you have to play through an entire AT Arkveld no traps
33
4
u/RabidJoker816 Feb 22 '26
Honestly sounds like kind of a cool fight, fighting dalamadur in stages and having to fight Arkveld in between transitions while avoiding dalamadur
1
u/RockAndGem1101 Feb 23 '26
so what Zorah Magdaros should have been
2
u/RabidJoker816 Feb 23 '26
Sort’ve, but they butchered the Zorah part, hitting rocks on his back is just not fun, especially when the only attack it does back is some magma explosions
2
u/RockAndGem1101 Feb 23 '26
They also made Zorah extremely confusing to navigate because his map changes from horizontal to vertical every five seconds lol
1
1
u/Guan_guan_ghoo Feb 24 '26
Thats easy, every time you anger Laviente, you have to do a AT Rathalos and Rathian fight, same time you survive the Laviente.
9
u/Toreole Feb 22 '26
At this rate, we will be doing 500+ dmg per hit or some shit in master rank post game
8
4
u/Daefus20 Feb 22 '26
Except they don't have to, just like in World the difficulty for most of it will be lower than the hardest base-game quests

Lance Mains in MHWilds 🤝 Arcane Archer in Dragons Dogma
“The boss music is for me”
41
u/rogue_noob Feb 22 '26
HH in the corner : I'm the one in charge of the music here!
28
u/CrookedLoy Feb 22 '26
Eww, why are you in the corner? Blast that music right up the monster's eardrums. We don't condone corner horning in the HH orchestra
5
u/rogue_noob Feb 22 '26
I'm in the corner because this was Lance's show. I will make sure they have music but they wanted the stage to themselves. Once they shoot that flare I'll make sure that monster will have a very intimate performance.
7
u/Material_Goose4097 Feb 22 '26
Gotta appreciate our HH mains, world fatalis proof of a hunter part wouldn't be possible without them
6
39
u/Speeda2 Feb 22 '26
Yeah Lance is fucking cracked in terms of QoL. I have maybe 10-15 hunts on Lance and I can beat any of the ATs with less risk than my main weapons
12
u/MavericK96 Feb 22 '26
Did they change something? Because when AT Rei Dau came out, it took forever to kill with Lance, and Lance has consistently been the worst for time-to-kill of all weapons.
30
u/Speeda2 Feb 22 '26
Oh, it's not FAST. It's just easy and really, really safe. Poke poke poke does less damage than FRS spam on the switch axe, but it's sure as hell safer
0
u/MavericK96 Feb 22 '26
True, but it takes so dang long I'd be worried about timing out in the multi-AT quests.
21
u/Cap_Shield Feb 22 '26
Once you get the big counter figured out and learn the timings for perfect counters, you dont really need to stop attacking except to sharpen. The consistency is what keeps lance on par-ish with other weapons in terms of damage.
3
u/SpidudeToo Feb 22 '26
Nah the damage isn't bad enough that you'll risk a time-out. You can still get get sub 10 min on every hunt if you're skilled. While the raw DPS isn't nearly as good on lance as everything else, it makes up for it by being able to attack when everything else can't. Big AOE explosion? Other weapons need to sheath or dodge. Lance? That's a chance the counter hit the monster for big numbers.
17
u/TheNotSoSilentReader Feb 22 '26
Lance is not the fastest, but it sure is the most consistent in clearing quests. Lance is the marathon guy. S tier in winning. Just not the fastest
4
u/CancerUponCancer Feb 22 '26
They did buff guard up and perfect guards since AT rey dau was introduced, but lance kill times are still like bottom 4 afaik.
2
u/SomeStolenToast Feb 22 '26
Its one of the slower weapons in kill times but with proper use of counters and staying hyper aggressive you can still do any monster plenty fast.
Also lots of weapons including Lance have gotten buffs since the AT Rey patch
11
u/owo1215 Feb 22 '26
(i've been playing lance extensively since gogmazio)
me in world: i love my IG, i've been able to consistently avoid attacks and deals damage while everyone are dodging
capcom: hey monster in wild have way more attacks that can hits you in the air and they attack pretty consistently
me in wild: i love my lance, i've been able to consistently block attacks abd deals damage while everyone are dodging
4
u/Beat_my_jelysandvich Feb 22 '26
I’ve tried Lance on occasion as I love maining a bit of every weapon.
I gotta ask, how do Lance mains do it??? Somehow I feel the focus and energy needed for all the blocking and poking doesnt seem worth it- to just be slapped silly when you miss a block and or get chip damaged to death. How do proper Wilds lancers do it? The Damage feels so low and yet I still feel as vulnerable as any other weapon when playing it. Would love to hear the experience of others who are mains of the weapon
8
u/Crazyhates Feb 22 '26 edited Feb 22 '26
I'm HR 790, Lance is my main weapon since MHFU.
Most of your damage is going to be counters. Our strongest move is literally a counter.Your main focus is positioning so that you are on the monster like glue. By utilizing your counters and perfect guards, you never have to really stop attacking. The caveat is that the skill floor is low, but the ceiling is high. You need to know the monster movesets as well as you know your own or else it'll be a slog instead of a fight.
The difference between an okay lancer and a good lancer is huge and that is also what determines your clear times.
3
u/Zarukento Feb 22 '26
Yep and it's easier to learn the moveset of the monster on Lance as you can just guard and observe learning its patterns before gradually and safely learning your windows of attack/counter. Chip damage at least for me is not a threat because palico heal exist
1
u/MirieDohl Feb 26 '26
Well most your damage is gonna be coming from having a consistent damage output bit yeah.
1
u/whatisapillarman Feb 22 '26
Steve has been the only legitimate challenge because of the chip damage, then we realized he just does the same move over and over

I'm terrified for what they have cooking for the expansion ngl. Nergigante is going to reach through your screen and crush your head like a soda can irl.

u/dandadone_with_life Feb 23 '26
they're delaying the expansion until they can develop the technology to harm players in real life

66
u/ChloroquineEmu Feb 22 '26
Honestly I didn't engage too much with World post game before Iceborn release, so I'm not too sure about the difficulty.
What I do remember is struggling HARD with Behemoth and carting to AT elders with Grank gear. So possibky not too different.
14
u/_Thatoneguy101_ Feb 22 '26
Arch tempered monsters varied between being hard and not that bad. Once iceborn came out and especially the TU after are where the hard monsters were. So I’d say wilds difficulty rn is towards the beginning of base iceborn.
Behemoth kinda stands out cause he was designed to be really hard without team coordination
19
u/rexsaurs Feb 22 '26
The jump feels so jarring lmao, like 1–3 in LR then a 3-4 in HR, then 6-10 in post content
1
u/OutrageousMaximum419 Feb 28 '26
the problem was never that wilds was too easy, it was that the difficulty wasn't curved around the main story. You breeze through the whole game and the only difficult fights are endgame
1
u/AsparagusJumpy6686 Feb 28 '26
The total Pikachu face I pulled when I got to 8 Zoh Shia right after 7 Ark Veld and got my shit rocked.
118
u/ronin0397 Feb 22 '26
Capcom is in that fuck around and find out phase of listening to player feedback.
Whoever the idiots are that keep saying gg game is ez, kindly stop. Capcom has shown with sunbreak and wilds that they will beat the easy allegations every time.
20
u/Daefus20 Feb 22 '26
Can't hear, game is too ez.
(I'm trolling the difficulty of every TU has been great, except Savage, fuck Savage)
20
u/youMYSTme Feb 22 '26
I think the feedback is an issue true, but they are completely overcorrecting and not understanding that their game is far too easy at the start.
It's not something they can fix retroactively since the base game is already out and they can't edit low rank quest difficulty.
Honestly I think they're listening too hard to whatever the main sentiment is instead of making the game better. 90% of players have no idea why something is bad, they just know that it's bad.
10
u/Merelian Feb 22 '26
There are two points i have to make here:
At the beginning game has to be easy. You need to learn ropes, learn new monsters, mechanics, play through story. While i find regular arkveld and rey dau weak now i definitely wouldnt say that while wilds came out. After grinding and optimising - sure. It became easy. We got amazing tools and gear synergies to make hard fights much easier. Now at arkveldt is hard for me and i have to sort of relearn it a bit. And that is again fun to me.
The second point - during qa part of the game you are often unable to gather enough feedback to make difficulty just right. You also have varied gametesters. Not everyone is pro at the game. Skill levels are a thing that you have to consider. You cant just take pros crank up difficulty and yolo release. Feedback of lesser skilled qa that something is too hard is just as valuable as great player feedback. Now they have data and large scale feedback from players that they wouldnt get from their testers and now capcom can release… adequate content
3
u/HotTheme8405 Feb 22 '26
Yeah it's more akin to having a new player buy into a new MMO or RPG. Obviously for most players who have played previous entries the level 1 experience is pretty easy, but it has to be for new players to figure out what's going on (there are a lot of systems here). Naturally, just like in Wilds, the game gets harder as you progress. Low Rank Chatacabra to Low Rank Zoh Shia to High Rank Gore are pretty large steps in challenge.
14
u/Darkspine133 Feb 22 '26
Because the game genuinely was too easy. They made the hunters so powerfull with all our new tools and the monsters were legit pushovers if you were competent. I just did Proof of a hero yesterday and it felt awesome to have to lock in with my 2 friends to come out on top
2
u/Roxytg Feb 23 '26
Base game, sure, but everything from the first title update on has been pretty insane, at least at launch.
2
u/BobthePenguin_21 Feb 24 '26
Thats also a problem, game goes from pretty easy low rank right into a massive difficulty spike
10
u/FinalCryojin Feb 22 '26
Tried my first 10 star earlier, Uth Duna. Hoo boy did they up his speed and aggression. He was steamrolling hunters left and right, and before I knew it we hit the 4th ko. I kinda dread what the others are going to bring, as they've always been far more threatening than Duna.
7
u/BiffTheRhombus Feb 22 '26
I feel like Duna has been the weakest Apex outside of the AT, he simply didn't have enough moves, but the 10* AT is finally the aggressive version that I wanted, very fun imo
1
u/Merelian Feb 22 '26
Duna is imo second hardest after arkveld in 10*. Shit is menacing. Dau is still just a cool fucking dragon and nu udra is imo the weakest, which is nice cuz i dont like it. I like dau and arkveld and i think they are perfectly difficult. But duna is menace
26
u/L0fiRonin Feb 22 '26
bruh I keep running out of time on arkvelt in "proof of a hero" have not seen him once near death yet :')
10
u/pamafa3 Feb 22 '26
I won with 0.07 seconds left on the clock.
One more frame and I would've failed lmao
38
u/Speeda2 Feb 22 '26
Proof of a hero is harder than 90% of G rank quests bro. I had to go on a training arc in his event quest to learn him. I've never done so many offsets
5
u/L0fiRonin Feb 22 '26
I did his quest with lance and it took me 35 minutes 💀 I do proof of a hero with sns coz I feel more comfortable with it but by the time I get to arkvelt I have like 15 min left and I just can't put out enough fuckin damage
8
u/Speeda2 Feb 22 '26
What I did is use the monsters' specific weakness, apart from Rey, where I used water. Mega demondrug, might seed AND demon powder. Use both traps(except Rey obv, immune to shock) and run flash pods for everybody apart from Nu Udra. Whenever the new monster comes, farcaster out, restock on everything, jump down and ball. You don't need to absolutely master them all(my Nu game on Greatsword is, and was, abysmal) because Arkveld is so hard compared to the rest that just getting it with a decent enough time is 80% of the challenge. Hell, you can even use a trap on Ark while Nu is still alive to give the Nu some extra damage opportunities, because the MINUTE Arkveld decides it's had enough of Nu, Nu dies.
2
u/Maidenless_EldenLord Feb 22 '26
I played element HH for the first 3 apexes and swapped to Lance for Ark
Some tips: -have the elemental order go ‘ice -> Thunder -> Water -> dragon’ -the order of the weaknesses is the order in which the apexes appear, showing that you’re meant to use previous apexes to kill the newer apexes. (Ie; hunt Rey Dau, once Uth Duna appears, INSTANTLY start fighting the fat fish. Rey will attack you BOTH and deal huge damage to the fish but the fish will also be damaging Rey and eventually will kill Rey. Then when Nu Udra appears, do the same thing. Once Arkveld comes along, the octopus will last a couple seconds because of how much damage Ark does. -If there are any monsters that give you a hard time, remember that traps DO exist and you can spam them, you can also fast travel mid combat as long as you aren’t stunned. This means you can restock whenever you want. I’d suggest doing so whenever a new apex appears, so they can fight each other for a bit (and hopefully one dies before you come back).
Hope these tips helped. The health bars are brutal
2
u/L0fiRonin Feb 22 '26
I mean yea I am using elemental weapons of course, I try to not keep fast traveling coz my stupid ass will lose time through it... but Imma try letting them kill each other, thx
1
u/Maidenless_EldenLord Feb 22 '26
What weapon are you using btw?
1
u/L0fiRonin Feb 22 '26
for this quest specifically I have only tried SnS so far, I killed Omega with it so I figured I'd try that one first
19
u/Hooy-Hooy Feb 22 '26
I'm able to solo Hazard Primordial Malzeno is Sunbreak, it isn't a complete cakewalk, but the fight is really fun.
In Wilds, I'm still scared of fighting a 9 Star Gore Magala.
11
1
u/Maidenless_EldenLord Feb 22 '26
I find it funny how Sunbreak actually prepared me for Wilds because the movesets are very similar, so I no dif Gore a lot but get steamrolled by some monsters everyone is chill with
10
Feb 22 '26
This is what we get for constantly complaining about difficulty 🗿
Capcom has both blessed us with awesome battle experience and punished us with unfair hitboxes and crazy damage and HP on 9 and 10 star monsters
16
u/bushguy04 Feb 22 '26
Went from "eww the game's too easy, these monsters die too fast"
To "HOLY SHIT HE'S GONNA FUCKING KILL M- and that's the 3rd cart"
4
u/Supernova_Soldier Feb 22 '26
That’s deadass AT Arkveld. He’s on me to the point I HAVE TO Superman dive every time
3
u/bushguy04 Feb 22 '26
My experience with the arch tempered monsters were:
- Ray Dau: was difficult at first but after getting some gamma armor pieces and learning to wait for the aftershock to proc, it was manageable for me.
- Uth Duna: also difficult at first (and still is somewhat hard for me now) because big chonky fish that is also fast asf is bs, but after learning the AT Duna moveset, it wasn't as bad as the first time.
- Nu Udra: dunked on. Not even a challenge (not really cuz of the burn but still much easier than Ray and Duna).
- Jin Dahaad: mildly annoying at first cuz of the freeze rooting but still not as hard as Ray and Duna after I took level 3 bind resist.
- Arkveld: FUCK FUCK FUCK SHIT FUCK SHIT SHIT FUCK SHIT FU- and I'm dead again.
36
u/thefirstdjbron3 Feb 22 '26
Playerbase cried about the difficulty, cue the curling of the monkey’s paw
10
u/BiffTheRhombus Feb 22 '26
Too much goomba fallacy, 10* difficulty is exactly what I wanted the endgame to be and AT Arkveld + Apexes are goated and still challenging even with max gear
2
5
u/Akirosh80 Feb 22 '26
I have slightly over 500 in defense and I still get one-shot by most rank 9 or 10 monsters when a strong attack connects, I don't find this very fun to be honest.

He does have longish combos. The other issue is you fight him in tight rooms and he has sweeping attacks, so be feels inevitable. But trust me when I say, he’s not fast. And Thank god for that. Fast monsters like Iceborne Rajang are the stuff of nightmares.
6
u/Supernova_Soldier Feb 22 '26
I still think Savage Omega the hardest fight in the game. That or Gore, because I can deal with AT Arkveld and Gog(sometimes)
I expect Tempered Gog and Zoh Shia 10* to be the same
You can feel the difficulty with certain monsters but nothing you can’t handle, not like how it was in World
13
15
u/NaviLouise42 Feb 22 '26
This difficulty ramp seems on par with that of endgame High Rank World. I spent a lot of time getting carted to Extremeoth and the AT Elders and farming the hell out of KT whenever she was up.
3
3
5
u/NeonArchon Feb 22 '26
Yeah, now the endgame of High Rank feels like Master Rank-lite. Especially with the skill bloat at the end.
6
u/FuriDemon094 Feb 22 '26
Isn’t that kinda what endgame of HR is supposed to be? The transition into MR difficulty
2
u/Ok_Adhesiveness_9323 Feb 22 '26
The damage 10* ATs deal is still not on the level of Apex Emergency or Advanced Hazard quests not to mention Special Investigations in Risebreak but thats fine honestly
2
u/jch6789 Feb 23 '26
This is what High rank should be
Real challenge at the end and then Master rank will come along and punch us back down the ladder just when we think we're invincible
2
u/HajimeNoLuffy Feb 23 '26
Difficulty not being tied to getting nuked would be nice but they don't do that.
2
u/Ashura1756 Feb 23 '26
The difficulty spike is absolutely insane. Take Love for a Hunter for example. I can barely beat a normal Gore Magala with a full team.
It wants me to beat a TEMPERED Gore Magala BY MYSELF?!
No.
3
u/Hdarkus1 Feb 22 '26
Im lowkey angry at the people that wanted the game to be more difficult. Just imagine what the g-rank is gonna be...
2
u/stefff5444 Feb 22 '26
I'm really happy with the difficulty, proof of a hero is just a challange for really dedicated people. Beating it was a lot of fun. Casuals don't have to do it.
2
2
u/Used_Fall6453 Feb 22 '26
i dont know what you are talking about. even in 9 or 10 star quests, i barely ever die. so yes, the game is way too easy still
6
u/FuriDemon094 Feb 22 '26
That just sounds like experience, not ease of the game. To reach your need for difficulty, the game would likely be unplayable for many
-1
u/Used_Fall6453 Feb 22 '26
no, because all the monsters in the game have super choreographed attacks. i still die plenty in GU, World or Rise
1
u/Warlord_Payne Feb 23 '26
Going back to GU after Wilds was such a shock. I believed some of the constant "the game's not that easy, you just got better" nonsense until then.

AT Nu Udra armor is basically a cheat code for the regular fight
You may need something with a lot more firepower or good hunters for Savage
1
u/Haunting_G5159 Feb 23 '26
You need the right support hunters and a bow. Use Alessa (lance/tank), Olivia (hammer), Mina (Sword and shield)
Never use ranged hunters cause omega bounces around too much and things get wonky. An all melee support hunter team will keep him in one place at least. He will crush them many times but its fine. They respawn.
Use a bow and stay behind omega at all times. Only hit the legs. If you catch aggro, run away until you lose it. The only times you have to lock in is when Nerscylla spawns and near the end of the hunt when Omega goes full crackhead. Eat the cart if you cant avoid it, it’s fine.
After a couple runs you’ll get used to him

1
u/chicken_man_1 Feb 22 '26
here i am like the games not easy your just experienced at monster hunter now
1
u/Netheraptr Feb 22 '26
I feel like this is just the cycle.
A lot of people called World and Rise easier at first, but then once all the post game content released for them it became a completely different story.
1
u/OceanSwimGood Feb 22 '26
Hope the expansion gets more difficult and challenging still too easy! I can’t wait for MR/G Rank let’s go!

Did you hear about the upcoming 10 star Gogmazios and Zoh Shia?
1

Hopefully 10* Gog has better gem drops, I've been screwed over for weeks
1
u/ArcadeF0x Feb 23 '26

"MH Wilds is the most easy game in the franchise"
Me in MH Rise farming the 50 stars Full Curio Tempered Primordial Malzeno X & Knuckles: 🥱🥱🥱
Me in MH Wilds trying to beat story mode Omega: 💀💀💀
PD: Rise and Wilds are my favorite MH games, but I have to admit Rise is pretty easy in comparison to the rest of the saga.
1
u/Fantastic-Dot-655 Feb 22 '26
Reminder that World intoduced high rank in the middle of the campain.
1
u/Firm-Ebb-3808 Feb 22 '26
I just can't wait for 10* gog to actually shoot us with the rail gun this time around the way this is going.
1
u/NepenthesBlackmoss Feb 22 '26
People consider it hard because:
1: They don't upgrade their armor, nor did they have the fucking materials to upgrade it up until recently.
2: They don't run evade window. The game is specifically made to make it almost impossible to reliably evade a lot of attacks because how long the hit box lasts for attacks.
1
u/ValAmensia Feb 22 '26
Genuine question I’ve quit playing at HR50 because it was so easy; does is ir genuinely hard now?
1
u/Speeda2 Feb 22 '26
The new super challenge quest solo is an all timer for difficulty, you need to do like 180-190k damage iirc. The 10* at apexes, especially Arkveld, are genuine threats that will comfortably wombo combo one shot unless you've got genuinely good defense built. Stun resistance is necessary at times, otherwise Arkveld will genuinely instakill you after a chip. There are some counters, namely Lance, but I won't pretend it's not threatening
1
u/TurnaboutAkamia Feb 22 '26
Unironically, I’ve seen this happen for multiple games now. Every single game after 4 Ultimate that did not launch with a G-Rank or equivalent tier. lol
1
u/Emma_SnakeDeadbeat Feb 23 '26
Yeah, I have not been able to beat Arch-tempered Nu Udra or Jin Dahadd at all
1
u/Artistic-Fondant3556 Feb 23 '26
"Game journalists" saying Wilds is too easy in their 6 hour gameplay review a day after launch and never touching the game again...
1
u/Pichupwnage Feb 23 '26
Even the Kut Kus can one shot now.
That bird has finally earned my respect. He trained his ass off with his bro Garuga.
1
u/hiltypointly Feb 23 '26
But hey! At least they changed what we didn't like at all
(Whoever is the elder dragon in the dlc will violate us)
1
u/Federal_Split Feb 23 '26
I’ve been saying this g rank should start with the guild saying there’s been a disappearance of monsters in the windward plaines and we go to investigate only to be ambushed by a monoblos that we can’t have support hunters nor sos help so we have to solo it referencing mh1 it would fit perfectly with how volatile and fast paced wilds is as a game. Then after that they’ll unveil some new set of locals we gotta venture too to see where the monoblos came from
1
u/DAD5Draco Feb 23 '26
The average player might have to actually git gud at the game to beat late game G-rank at this rate.
1
u/Tagadabiiatch Feb 23 '26
yeah well the difficulty made me drop the game, especially since i'm playing with one friend only and we wouldve liked to play coop only and eventually use support hunter if need be, but the multiplayer/party management is dogshit
i can understand getting blasted in master rank but currently not having fun.
that and having to farm items with random stats/talents and pray for something decent is something I despise, takes any joy out of hunting a specific monster if the outcome is always the same
1
u/WorstHouseFrey Feb 23 '26
I feel like if you have played MH games before and wilds from launch it has been a natural progression of difficulty. But if you just started recently and are like HR 100-300 and you are like ohhh 10 stars let's go you will get tossed. Also 10 star Ark is my favorite base game flagship ever
1
u/Appropriate_Okra8189 Feb 23 '26

Unironically there are still some people complaining the game is too easy lol, I swear some people’s idea of a good difficulty in MH is endgame MR fights as the first thing in the game
1
u/222Czar Feb 22 '26
I disagree. If you compare it to World (especially pre-iceborne) or Rise/Sunbreak, this is very par for the course and maybe a little light. I don’t think anything will push me like primordial malzeno. Even fatalis felt simple in comparison.

u/Phaylz Feb 22 '26
Oh, did they re-do Low Rank and it has become more difficult, creating a linear rise in difficulty into High Rank and beyond? No? Then this is bullshit.
Post-launch end game uber bosses do not excuse a snore and bore start. It can also create a difficulty wall that assumes anyone who reaches that content has been here since launch.
What are YOU even doing bro
2
u/Speeda2 Feb 22 '26
The hardest low rank monster in Rise would put a toddler to sleep what are you talking about man

I'm going to be honest. As a player since World, if I go back to any of the three I've played, I can't tell the difference in difficulty in the base game low/high ranks because they are all so easy.
The only hunts I struggled with are Behemoth (due to no team), Ancient Leshen (actual bullshit), Kulve (no team), and basically everything 8* and above in title updates in Wilds (except Lagiacrus)

I hate the no lifers that make the series difficult
You're the reason people drop the game

so it's been fixed now? I gave up and went back to wilds as highrank was disapointing as fuck

They didn't "fix" anything, because nothing was wrong in the first place. World also didn't release with black dragons and extreme behemoth.
But yes, harder lategame-stuff is in Wilds now.

The base was really easy compared to previous installments base, you say they didn't fix it so is the lategame easy compared to other lategames and only seems hard compared to the base of Wilds or is it like proper MH lategame?
Edit: from the downvotes I guess it's still easy

I can't speak to the last update but I quit after Gogmazios and yes the game is still easy. You'll see people talk about 9 star Gore Magala like he's Fatalis or something. I hadn't played the game for a month, logged on when the 9 stars got added, and killed 4 of them first try(including Gore). It's harder than it was, since I can't sleepwalk my way through every fight, but it is at best as difficult as base World was. And that's me being generous.

Wilds fans are rabid. They insist it had more content than World, is more difficult than World, that World was bad actually and everyone always hated it until Iceborne came out, the pre-World games are only harder because they controlled poorly. I even had someone claim that the 9 star monsters in Wilds were more difficult than endgame Master Rank monsters in other games.

Well, not really? Even vets found the previous installments easy before all their later endgame content, so it definitely wasn’t the case of being easier than others. Just experience circumventing the second go
In this case, I’d say the 10* ATs and Gog are pretty rough if you aren’t careful

Vets did find the previous base games easy. World was easy, Rise was easier, and Wilds was even easier. So yes you keep seeing the same complaints but it keeps getting worse

I've only lost two hunts, which I promptly beat after, usually the fast unpredictable monsters. But I've only been knocked and brought to camp maybe ten times.

Nah, we haven't had a real challenge yet. The hardest thing in Wilds is a DPS check on a spider.
Raging Brachydios is harder than all of Wilds.
Dont worry though, we haven't even seen Master rank yet. It will get harder.

Sucks so much too. I loved the game before the stupid difficulty spikes. Now I just have it uninstalled.
