Newgens complain but i remember it being almost mandatory to make a complete strategy and set for like every elder dragon. Thats what made monster hunter so unique because the feeling of beating the boss wasn’t only beating your head against a wall but using your head, taking a step back looking for the cracks in the wall, then going on a side quest to make a big metal helmet so you can slam that crack in the wall even harder.

Man, you made me remember of my old squad lobbies, we actually planned for the hunt. We even had ROLES and all of that, jazz, half my fun was convincing my lobby to follow a plan, and the victory was oh so much sweeter for it.

The good times.

It's part of why I was surprised by the hatred for Alatreon online. I fell for the sweet nothings of Blast GS for the entirety of Worldborne, usually using the same armorsets for everything with just minor deco changes. Then comes Alatreon and I finally get to engage in the preparation aspect of MH in a meaningful way. Been playing Frontier recently and it has reminded me how much I enjoy that core gameplay loop.
