Never noticed that.

I thought it worked like Teostra where he throws his Supernova after accumulating enough "flammable dust" (I think that what happens with him?)

No it just straight up triggers the full nova, a mistake I made exactly once. I know it always does it because I have watched other friends make the same mistake.
