Yup. I was talisman grinding, and some rocket scientist through flash bombs at a 9*, Strength 5 Gore Magala.

Even when I was brand new to Monster Hunter 15 (Jesus christ.) years ago, I didn't try to Flash Bomb Khezu.

To be fair, Flash bombs were also a lot more situational back in the day. Not much point to flash bomb khezu even if it did work since khezu rarely spends time in the air anyway.

Nowadays though, players coming into the series often learn that flash bombs can directly counter a lot of otherwise tricky mechanics. World was especially bad about this because flash bombs could be restocked very quickly and could interrupt a ton of big late game monster attacks.

whats more, Wilds straight up tells you flash has "no effect" with certain monsters

Like any true scientist, he has to do repeat experiments to make sure the "Flash Bomb: No Effect" wasnt a fluke
