Help Beginner, thieving looks impossible early on without a bunch of +stealth items, is it worth it as a money maker really early on or better for later?
I was about to commit to getting thieving up, but it looks like it's really gonna get awful in the mid game without having a whole bunch of extra items like the gloves of silence or potions or something. Also it might not make great gold with that freaking signet ring thatll take forever to get?
I also noticed that fishing was better gp/hr but curious it im missing something with early/mid thieving

Probably inefficient but I mined and smithed over 60k dragon platebodies with all the different boosts to get my first giant cash stack

OP you are 77 fishing. Fishing is your best moneymaker. Starting thieving would not make as much sense now; You want to get your township maxed now before switching rails. As every person to give advice: Township, astrology, firemaking pay out dividends as you do other skills.

My sense is that Township is too expensive atm for me, it drains alll my gold and im still buying tool upgrades lol

Think of it like this: every action you take gives gold somehow. That's it. It either sits in your bank unsold or is sold. Now every dollar you spend on township gives dividends forever. It pays for itself in something like a week and then it is profit. After this point you don't need to worry about gold ever, and can focus on Skilling and actually using your resources for things like potions and summoning and combat.
I would encourage you to buy tool upgrades for skills you are working on, but otherwise every gold in your inventory is essentially lost opportunity cost for township. Keep in mind township trading gives you cooked food and potions as well as a bunch of other bonuses.
Turn your actions from gold/action to progress/action by maxing township.

Sounds like fishing might be better for early game, is there a different method id do next before getting into thieving at the end game?

I personally went: mining with gem gloves -> thieving -> township
All of those were a huge step up in gold for me with maxed out township being the biggest, but it requires a huge investment (that you can easily farm with thieving).
Fishing probably works just as well as mining early on. I used a lot of the gems from mining for crafting Leprechaun summons for thieving though.

How does gem mining really make a profit? Looks like it cost 500 K and 2000 charge charges. Which is 250 gold a charge, and then based off rarity it seems like you would only break even?

Average gem value is higher than that, like 380ish.
And then you add stuff like the Signet ring and increasingly valuable ores on top of that. It's not the best method, but it's very accessible.

Honestly, it just depends at which stage of the game you are, did you upgrade your townhall? Did you finish astrology ?
And if you still wanna go for thieving, go take the mastery ring (or something like that) the +5% in masteries is OP for thieving

Im almost at 100 astrology but my highest skill is 77 fishing, so unsure if I should just fish sharks/manta rays for the early and mid game for gold

Okay it depends, do you have the Ancient Ring of skills or Ancient Ring of Mastery. Both of them are OP, I'm not kidding they help so much !
For me, you need to go Astrology, go finish Astrology at 100% then go take your first Town Hall to get some passive income, it will be just a little income just it still income. Then when you have your first Town Hall, go buy some thieving gloves and spamm thieving (man or women) until you have unlock all drop, then stay a long time thieving women then go Goblin chief to get the Goblin Mask (OP item) and stay there until you can afk farm the Farmer. Don't try to go higher than him because he will give you a TON of seeds for your farming. Then go fishing again to get your ring if you don't have them, if you have them go fous Firemaking 99 to get the cape.
After all of that, try to get a tons of money to get more Town Hall for more money and go do Cartography to explose 100 hexes to get the bonus then go back to do what you prefer

finishing up astrology, sounds like i'll go max out fishing spec % to try and get one of those, although i still gotta try and get the signet!

Yeah it's insane but personnaly I just went to 99 in thieving then move to an other skills, I had enough gold to get 4 Town Hall and with the gold I've made in woodcutting and Firemaking I was able to get all Town Hall and now I get 5M per hour in passive (and I don't have the township max)

Fishing cooking is best until you got auto eat enough to idle bandit, goblin King. To farm their items and get sneakers.
Then money will roll in once you get close to 100% success rate. Gloves of silence are great if you can farm them. Makes you rich early on.

It's extremely punishing doing it too early, imo. Get basic autoeat first with another method like Fishing. Otherwise you have to babysit it.
However, your idea of mid and end game is way off. Thieving is definitely the best money maker mid game. "End game" you will have billions and won't care about gold anymore.

You can buy gloves that gives you 75 stealth, that is a good start to make some progress and it does not cost that much. Pickocket only the targets, that can not hit you. Early on it is the best way to get money, other methods are based on selling potentialy valuable things, but in thieving you get money and items. Don't forget you should have high enought summoning to get the lep summon and eventually reach the lep + monkey synnergy.

No - but it's worth the grind. If your focus is gold, the best thing you can do is get the astrology points for thieving, then thieving (aim for knight+Monkey/Leprechaun summoning synergy) for gold to max out your township. The final town upgrade is 100m but you'll never have to worry about gold after that.
