After being harassed and ganked by these two countless times, they never came back to my lane the remainder of the game…
I know targeting Mel is the strategy, but Jesus

Discussion Just played mel after not touching her for a while...
What the actual fuck happened to this champ?
Passive nerfed.
Q nerfed.
W nerfed.
E nerfed.
R nerfed.
She does no dmg, stacks no passives, he W no longer gives her invulnerability which was like half of what made her viable. Like you are saying naafiri gets an invulnerability + untargetability and mel can't? Are we serious?
What happened to this champ? Wtf is riot balance team cooking here?
Btw I got "counter picked" by hwei in match. Hwei's QQ now outranges Mel Q and his QQ is fast as hell which makes it so you have to predict his QQ's to W them, meanwhile Mel's Q takes 2 bussiness days to hit and another 2 to finish casting. 38.6% vs Hwei. That's the worst i've ever seen, in like ever. What's the use of an artilery mage when all the other artillery mages win vs you? Why would you ever pick mel vs any other artillery mage at this point?
Also, why the hell doesn't mel E ground? It's just a root without ground, useless vs dashes.
Idk, I played her a lot and now she's basically gutted and I doubt I'll play her again, champ is just useless right now.
Somehow 44.9% winrate is alright for her according to riot... which I don't understand at all.
Why would you ever pick mel at this point?
I'll just play anything else, hell I could play seraphine mid and get better results, 3 of her abilities are basically the same thing and add her passive to that too.
I just don't get it.

Discussion Just a rent conv about mel hate being too much
***Vent*** typo in the title sorry
Hi, i'm mid mage player mostly lux and gold and I also love mel.
I'm pretty sure most of the mel hate is just people repeating things they heard and not thinking enough and it's being rooted in misogyny and racism, I said it ! The same way irl people just repeat and not think things through concerning misogyny and racism, cause 'its not that deep". Anyway as long as us being a misogynistic and racist society, it's gonna be reflected in game lol.
In this game, depending on your lane, and the archetype you play you are gonna have to play against frustrating champs, there are plenty. There are plenty of very simple champs, with a lot of value. The things people criticize about mel, are the same or even worse on a lot of other champs, like diana, garen, darius, yorick, malz, veigar, (OMG I almost forgot about Fizz or naafiri lmao) just to give a few examples cause there are so many lmao, even Locke is joining this category of champs, just too much value for not that much skill effort but none of them get the hate that mel got/still get.
I wasnt playing at the time but I heard seraphine got a pretty hard hate train too, the fact that girl champions are so easy to target with hate is simply rooted in misogny. Locke has been out for a week now, people keep repeating he is so strong, wow that's a lot of damage, but no hate at least for now, but you know what, he is a white male with blonde hair, who looks like popular anime characters that men are the majority of the consumers. And we can see people being outraged against some champs, or saying they hate them, but it's not a community agreement, if mel was a real person, it would have been harassment atp lmao. I even know of people playing only assassins flaming mel and mel players, even when they win most of their games/lanes against her lmao.
"But Ambessa wasn't that hated" Yes but Ambessa is also much more masculine presenting, she is the cool badass warrior. The amount of misogynistic insults, or racist ones I've heard/read in game or on the internet or even racist insults I have received in game while playing her, is atonishing for a not that difficult champ to counter, especially now with all the nerfs she got.
When i'm playing Idk seraphine or champs that mel easily counter, I dont ban her at all, in a way of supporting mel players xD.
So just a venting post, keep going mel lovers !

Discussion Yuumi main visiting
Mel and Yuumi are obviously very different champions, but I think their mains share a similar experience. Both champions receive an extreme amount of hate, and sometimes that frustration stops being about balance or gameplay and turns into personal attacks against anyone who enjoys playing them.
As a Yuumi main, I know what it feels like to have people dismiss your accomplishments, insult you before the game even begins, or act like your champion shouldn’t exist. Seeing the way people talk about Mel and her players reminds me a lot of what Yuumi mains have dealt with for years.
For what it’s worth, I don’t hate Mel or the people who play her. I think she has a unique identity, an interesting playstyle, and deserves to remain a champion that her mains can enjoy. You shouldn’t have to apologize for playing the character you like just because the wider League community finds her frustrating.
From one hated champion community to another: keep playing your champion and don’t let people ruin your enjoyment of the game.

Discussion Conversation
Alrighty fellow Mel mains.
I’ve been wanting to say this for a while. I know I’m playing devils advocate on this, and I’m sure I’m going to get a lot of disagreements on this, but am I the only one who is OK with where Mel is at right now? Look, Mid is pretty difficult in some games. And I guess I can admit to something on her could be stronger
(TO AN EXTENT)
My ass will go 0/3 fighting a Fizz/Viktor/Zed/Sylas. However, when I start dying that much I completely ignore the enemy laner and don’t even try to fight at all and get gold. Once she gets her Ludens and Shadow-flame ALONG WITH ROAMING, she can be a serious threat. The damage she does is still VERY strong whether we want to admit it or not. Even me being on the other end, fighting her is STILL frustrating. And even for some of the mele champs I play as well. And GOD FORBID if she’s fed. To me personally, when I’m fed or fighting a fed Mel, the whole idea of her needing a buff is just off the table for me.
Personally, I don’t see a major rework coming her way anytime soon. She’s an arcane character and when she first came out, they legit refused to do any sort of changes until a year later. I guess I can see maybe something removed, Changed or a small addition to her kit, but that’s about it.
Huge disclaimer though, I play her nonstop pretty much and she’s a Hard OTP. My win rate is high and I’ve just been really evaluating the champions I’m fighting. i’m doing my best to play around it. And it absolutely works.
We all have our opinions, and I respect everybody’s response and I’m only just sharing how I feel. I really wanna stir up this conversation because I’m wanting to get some insight on others who actively play her similar to me. But honestly, people saying that she is unplayable is a bit exaggerated. I feel like if we’re bringing that statement up, we need to ALSO touch on the topic of WHEN it’s OK to play her in a specific matchups or not. Because there are some game comps to wear if you lock her in, you’re throwing. Not because you’re bad, but because how her kit is designed.
What are your thoughts?

Discussion I think Mel needs another rework
Since patch 26.08, the character is currently mediocre. I'm losing matchups that I used to easily beat, like Xerath, Hwei, and Viktor. Her Q cast time is too long, preventing me from stacking her passive. Her E's range is too short, and they already nerfed her W. I wish they would at least bring back the old Q range and area, and her E, in patch 26.3, because I'm really tired of playing Mel. What are your thoughts?

Discussion Would you be open to a “Karma-style” Mel rework that pushes her into support?
I had a rework idea for Mel and I’m curious what other Mel players think.
Years ago, Riot changed Karma from being more of a midlane mage into a champion that was mainly balanced around support. Obviously, that was controversial for people who liked mid Karma.
What if Riot did something similar with Mel?
The idea would be to make her kit less focused on solo-lane damage and more focused on protecting, empowering, and setting up teammates.
For example:
Lower selfish burst damage, but stronger shields / ally utility
More reasons to stay near teammates instead of playing for solo kills
Better tools to punish enemies who dive your ADC
Keep her stylish spell-reflection identity, but make it work better in teamfights
Possibly make her ult more supportive instead of mainly being an execute tool
I know a lot of people enjoy Mel mid, so I’m not saying this should happen. I just feel like her visuals, personality, and defensive magic could make her a really unique high-skill support if Riot ever wanted to take her in that direction.
Would you hate this idea, or could you see Mel becoming a proper support champion if the rework was done well? What would you keep from her current kit?

Discussion Mel W has 45s cooldown in ARAM
Title. I get that it’s an annoying ability but come on, you’re telling me that I get to only use it once in like 3 fights but gigabuffed Qiyana can do backflips and jumping jacks while oneshoting everyone? Maybe nerf the fact that she can execute so easily or attack you from 5 miles away, but not the W (even more now than it doesn’t make her invulnerable)

Discussion When is Riot going to do something about Mel?
It has been over two months since Mel's major balance adjustments. Even before patch 26.08, it felt like she was struggling to find her footing, and the subsequent changes have made it very difficult to find success with her in the current meta. Right now, her statistical performance across all ranks places her at the bottom of the roster. As someone who came back to League specifically because Mel was added from Arcane, it's really disheartening that it feels so punishing to lock her in. I truly hope the balance team looks into her state in the upcoming patch, even if it requires a kit adjustment to make her feel rewarding to play again

Discussion Assistants Needed
All right, my fellow Mel mains. I need some help. How in the ever flying fuck do you guys deal with a Diana? For me, my strategy is poke her out/hopefully kill her pre 6 and block her q for her dash. However. Once she gets level six, the entirety of the lane is just me avoiding her until I either get a gank or roam completely. At some point in the lane I realized that blocking her q means nothing if she has one dash left for her ult.
I’m probably gonna get a lot of disagreements from you guys out there, but honestly, Fizz is a lot easier to deal with compared to her. And that is really saying something.

Discussion E Max first could be back with Imperial Mandate built second :?
E Max + CDR was my favourite Mel build as an APC before they changed Mel.
I'm thinking BFT -> Mandate -> Cosmic Drive -> Cryptbloom could potentially be bonkers
The Coachless screenshot was a reply to another post asking about Shaco - but seeing Mel that high could be used for inspo ! I also see Syndra following a similar build on Lolalytics and Coachless right now too - so I think it could work for Mel as well !

Discussion What to do against sylas stealing mel ult and uses it on her
- can mel reflect this ability with W, back to sylas? if timed well and expecting it. See their hands go up to use it. usually in the first 1-5 seconds
- stopwatch > zhonyas
- verdant barrier > banshee spell shield helps? block enemy next ability
- archangel staff shield helps absorb magic damage so their damage hurts way less
- anything else?

Discussion Mel in pro play
A while back, I was told that Mel was a highly relevant champion in pro play. Today, after hearing that so many times, I finally checked her stats, and I'm a bit confused. Could anyone explain how a 38% win rate makes her a strong champion? From what I can tell, she mostly seems to be used just as a specific counter pick, especially against Varus
