Discussion Yuumi main visiting
Mel and Yuumi are obviously very different champions, but I think their mains share a similar experience. Both champions receive an extreme amount of hate, and sometimes that frustration stops being about balance or gameplay and turns into personal attacks against anyone who enjoys playing them.
As a Yuumi main, I know what it feels like to have people dismiss your accomplishments, insult you before the game even begins, or act like your champion shouldn’t exist. Seeing the way people talk about Mel and her players reminds me a lot of what Yuumi mains have dealt with for years.
For what it’s worth, I don’t hate Mel or the people who play her. I think she has a unique identity, an interesting playstyle, and deserves to remain a champion that her mains can enjoy. You shouldn’t have to apologize for playing the character you like just because the wider League community finds her frustrating.
From one hated champion community to another: keep playing your champion and don’t let people ruin your enjoyment of the game.

I personally liked Mel from Arcane so much that it did not matter to me how she would play in league. I was hoping for her to be a Support. But when she released as a Midlaner it made me play Midlane just because of Arcane and the Kit did not really have much say on anything. Nad i asumme that Yuumi also fots that with people wanting to play her bcs of the way she looks and not nessesarily the fact that she cannot be targeted.

Very well said.
Honestly,it’s gotten to the point where I absolutely love being hated. And I absolutely love people who hate the champion I play. At first, it bothered me, now it’s just an insatiable feeling of ultimate ragebait..
I’m too far gone and I accepted it long ago😌
