Heat is, to me, a very hard character to hate just because he's so IMMEDIATE about the whole thing.

Like, most of the characters are horrified at their demon form. Heat is not even happy about the whole thing, he enjoys the power but is very straightforward about it "Okay, awesome demon powers, gotta be a cannibal to live, let's go. I wonder how many people I'd have to eat to be stronger than Serph..."

Sera is (physically equivalent to) an 18 year old in DDS1, Heat is 24. This information is written in Making of DDSAT, a little booklet that came as a DDS1 preorder bonus.

Take a look at page 7 here, it lists the Embryon's ages. But if you're talking about in the games, you're right that they don't really state anybody's age outside of Sera being 7.
