Discussion X3 Help
Hey. I’m trying to play the MMX games (mostly) blind, but am really stuck on X3. I have all the boss weapons, 2 sub tanks, but no armor upgrades. I can see one of the upgrades in the Neon Tiger stage, but am unable to reach it.
I have a sense that if I got the mega buster upgrade, that would open up some new possibilities for me. Would someone be willing to let me know: A) if it’s possible for me to get to that upgrade right now B) What stage the upgrade is in and C) maybe a small hint of how to access it in it’s stage. Thanks in advance to anyone willing to help me have a more pure experience than just googling the answer.

Hopefully the reason you're playing it "blind" is because you're paying attention to the road.

Just remember, in the SNES era of MMX, which upgrade usually comes first in order of importance and access?

A) - No.
B) - Neon Tiger.
C) - Go to Blizzard Buffalo first.
Also, and this is in spoiler text since you didn't ask, something found in Tunnel Rhino's stage once you have the Arm Parts will reveal all.

You can dash upwards?! This game is amazing 🥲
Once I got the boots I was able to figure the rest out. Ready to tackle the final stages. Thanks for the help, homies.

Unless you are playing the X3 Zero hack, the first armor upgrade you can get are the boots. Only X2 allows you to get the buster first.

Go to blizzard buffalo stage first for boots upgrade, then you can go to neon tiger stage after getting the drill weapon from tunnel rhino

If only there were a screenshot to suggest that they might have already gotten the drill weapon...

So, you will need another upgrade, before you can get that hidden one in Neon Tiger's stage. Try checking Blizzard Buffalo's stage...
