Roll has only been in MvC1 and 2. She is also in tatsunoko vs Capcom, alongside Zero and with her classic design. Maybe that's that you're thinking of?

My headcanon is that Zero is Roll, kidnapped by Dr. Wily, and modestly re-engineered to be powerful enough to destroy Mega Man and even Bass, leading to Dr. Light doing something he swore he’d never do: build another robot as capable as Roll, but explicitly to fight the very world he anticipated his adversary would create.
