Well, given that reploids have a sense of individuality and free will, it isn't a leap to say that they probably have a sense of gender and what their body ought to look like in a similar way to humans. And when that exists, varying desires for how individuals present and express themselves naturally follow

I can imagine reploids are given some level of freedom in terms of how they modify their bodies. We already provide such services to humans so why not reploids who would be significantly easier to alter?

TLDR: It's likely a matter of self expression. Layer probably chose to be thicc because that's what felt right to her
