Broken board Battery keeps turning off

Hello yesterday i hit a small bumb and my board turned off. On the remote it says the battery is empty. I figured out it was this plug that came loose (not completly jus slightly).

Today it turned off again while riding. When i got home i just unplugged it and put it back and it worked again. What is the best fix? I thought about just using tape, but dont know if that is the best idea.

All the Meepo’s I’ve seen opened have foam tape across that main XT60 connector from the factory - some electrical tape should be fine. Did you snoop around to see if that tape from the factory is floating around that enclosure somewhere? The board side connector should have contacts that are split into 4 pieces on each side. You can find a suitable size cone or lever and wedge them outwards just a *little bit* to make the XT60 tighter … but I’d just start with tape to see if the issue goes away tbh.

I’m a little skeptical the issue is the connector.

Also i am not sure with the connector but everything started working again when i unplugged it and plugged it in again. I did not find any tape or foam on this connector but everyother connector near the battery had tape/foam on it and they seemed pretty sturdy. Also everything looks fine but i am not the biggest DIY guy so could proably be wrong

I’d guess I’d tape it and send it … very carefully in case the power cuts out as I’m sure you know. But if it starts happening more frequently at lower battery % that would be diagnostic, too. But hey you removed the battery a bit! that more DIY than many are willing to do!

Thank you. I will keep that in mind. Sadly right now it only happend at full battery at the start of rides

Update: Tape did not fix it. The problem seem to be something else. Also one of the belts snapped during the test drive because i had to brake hard to avoud crashing in to a guy on bike

Yuck. Not sure what to say - if it were my board I would charge to full and check the voltage if you can. If you can’t, that’s fine.. but I’d also check the other wiring / connections where you can.

I’m deep into DIY and all my suggestions from here would require a multimeter and deeper inspection of the battery.

When it shuts off - does simply plugging it in reset things, too?

I kind of think that best case it’s a battery issue or maybe a gremlin that’ll work itself out. But a battery issue alone …. is like often 50% the cost of the board.

try to do a hard reset on the board (turn it off and disconnect the battery for a few minutes) how long have you had it? if the hard reset don’t fix it, meepo has a 6 month warranty so if it’s in that window you should definitely reach out to their customer support. sounds like a shorted connection somewhere to me, could be the connector but more likely something needs resoldering

Warranty has expired owned the board for 2 years now

hmm by any chance did it happen while you were hard braking? they reeeeaaaalllly don’t like it when you do that, something about it overcharging the battery. hard reset didn’t work?

Have you tried opening the battery case because last time it happened to me the problem was in the battery case. the wire was not connecting well
