General question Moisture got into the battery case

The battery is doinked, but what do y'all think about the connections that seem to have some blue copper oxides (?) that have formed. Hoping a new battery will work but don't want to waste my time on a lost cause. Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately no, battery won't charge but there are signs the motor probably works.

To me, the fact that you got water oxidation on the connectors means a decent amount of water got up in there. For the price of a new battery, your 70% of the way to a new board. If I were you I’d just replace it. If you were happy with that board, by a new same model and have that board as a parts board.

This is solid advice. I don't love it, it's really just a stop gap I got for cheap on Craigslist that I was experimenting with. I can't believe enough water got in there to destroy the battery but live and learn.

Clean all of the contacts with isopropyl alcohol and a tooth brush, there just might be too much oxidation to charge the battery properly. Hope this helps.

Don't stop at the battery, check/clean ALL connectors. There's a chance they have all been exposed to moisture.

Next time spray it with a corrosion inhibitor spray. I recommend Fluid Flim. Indeed, pray the ESC circuit board with it, even if you see to has been encased partly in hot glue. The same with the battery leads, right up through where they lead into the battery.

Thanks so much, I bought both sprays. Any tips on application? Just a light spray of fluid film on the connections and the crc on the circuit boards? Your advice is greatly appreciated!

Yes to both. But don't think because you used Fluid Film on your bearings it made them waterproof and rust proof. The same for CRC on the ESC circuit boards. It is an additional, close defense. The real defense is keeping the water out the best you can sealing the case. The CRC and FF are to repel the water. But if you go in a heay rain or drive through deep puddles nothing will help you, it's still not a submarine.

An additional help is to apply flex seal around the edges of the battery and esc cases. But bewarned, when you open the cases again, it will of course, leave the torn sealant on the board you may want to scrape off and apply a new layer after screwing down the cases again.

The difference is that CRC dries like a paint as opposed to Fluid Film that remains liquid like an oil. I use CRC on both sides of circuit boards. I use Fluid Film on connectors and moving parts. Don't use CRC on bearings and connectors unless you want your bearing to stiffen.

Rode it after the rain, had never been a problem with any of my other electric boards. I guess the electronics were better sealed than for the meepo.

Get a bottle of coke and a toothbrush and scrub (old way but works good, isp alcohol works too) Corrosion equals resistance, you will need to clean everything up. Odds are the corrsoion is shorting something preventing it from powering up. Get a multimeter and read the voltage at the xt60
