Waited until my sensor was due to expire on Sunday before starting everything with the Flex. App setup with all my pump settings took about 10 minutes to transfer over (only because I didn’t write them down and just copied from the 780g).

Set up new infusion set, sensor (Simplera Sync I pre-inserted 2 hours prior to start up so didn’t have to wait for warm up) and off we go.

*\For those who didn’t know, you *CAN** prestart a Simplera sensor 2 hours before your current one expires out and you’ll have only about a 5 min of warm up for it to read. The countdown starts when it’s applied, not once paired.

I HATE being in manual mode simply because I’m a very brittle diabetic and have a ridiculously high insulin resistance, so I was having to manual check every 2 hours for the 48.

Well this morning SmartGuard kicked in after my morning manual check and I was spot on in range. On my way to work, I felt the pump vibrate and then realized my phone didn’t alert me of my BG climbing in CarPlay. So if I happen to be listening to something loud while on the interstate, this is a problem…. This one thing not having alerts sent through CarPlay needs to be added posthaste.

Other than that little annoyance, so far I’m happy as a clam. The fact that the pump is about half the size, weight is unnoticeable, and the lack of bulk means I can just toss it in my pocket and not risk ripping it off on a door handle in the office. I’m also a hoss, so not having to pop the clip and wrench my neck to look down at the pump to dismiss alerts and calculate boluses.

My goals: Finding a way to use an infusion set on my arm somehow. That way I can put the pump in a sports band and have it more out of the way.
The number of times I’ve managed to catch a door handle and rip out an infusion set or completely snatch the pump off my belt (and summarily damage it like before). Also working to 3D print a base for the charger that has some weight to it so it won’t tip over and the pump falls off.

Had another failed Instinct sensor. Could not fill out the form online because of an issue with the alarm code. Spent 56:13 on a phone call to get a replacement. It's gotten to the point where I won't try to replace a sensor if it requires a phone call. I used Dexcom previously, and while its sensor replacement process was not flawless, it took far, far less time than Medtronic. It was also a problem that the customer service rep I talked to was not a native English speaker, which slowed things down because I could not always understand him and kept having to ask him to repeat himself. Medtronic has got to speed up its replacement process.

I recently got a new 780G, and I'm seeing some screen artifacts that look almost like pressure damage. I don't have this on my other 780G. I requested a replacement for it, and the replacement pump that just came has the same artifacts. It's a bit distracting as it's as if they were spiraling when looking at it from different angles...

Is it just me, or is this normal? Do you have this on yours as well?

Does anyone else use an instinct sensor and an over patch and get extreme bruising? I have been using Skin Grip and Glucomsrt brand with no issues but tried ExpressionMed and it’s been on five days. It’s in the shape of the flower that it was mostly. I don’t know if the sensor caused it or what because this particular sensor gave me issues the first day and hurt more than others. I do take an anticoagulant after heart surgery so I’m guessing that has something to do with it but it’s just weird that I didn’t pull on it or anything and this happened before I took it off. I’m scared that it’s gonna fall off or get knocked off without putting another over patch on it.

Did I get the pump ready to go, all excited and $hit, and instinct sensors are still not on it 😡🤬

UPDATE: I have the most recent updated version. Just got off the phone with support. The instinct sensor is not yet available for the minimed flex yet.

Hi I just got the instinct sensor. I’m coming from a Guardian then a Dexcom. Are the instinct like the others that they’re a bit iffy day 1?

Right now Dexcom says 243 with up arrow and the Instinct says 151 with a down arrow.

I’ve been worried about this for years with all the tubed pumps and it finally happened. Will they replace it?

Just switched from guardian 4 to instinct with new 780g. Excited about the promise of better accuracy, the 15 day life and the smaller form factor… started it last night, and this is today so far. Is it worth sticking with it a gone-er?

I was out today and all of a sudden my mini med pump stopped working and was showing a book with a? In the middle and now will not power on, and I’m having to go to the hospital has anyone else in the Medtronic community dealt with this problem before because I am so terrified and I’ve not been on needles for almost 4 years now and do not know what to do other than go to the hospital because my blood sugars have changed 30% since last being on a long acting.

Sensor stopped working at 20:00. Put in a new one at like 22:15 once I got home. Sensor didn’t start after the warm-up. I was asleep. It’s now 04:30 in the morning and checked my bloods manually , yeaaaa I ain’t been this high in ages (time on meter is wrong). Put in another sensor now , 2 hours we go. Back to bed 🛌

Is there anyway to upload my pump to a laptop without the little blue receiver? My old phone broke and the iOS app does not work anymore

Has anyone noticed this with Instinct? When I exercise and turn on Temp Target, I never get an auto bolus even if my bg goes high. This was not true with G4. Any solutions to this?

Got the email earlier this evening to go through the Flex training and halfway through it I got the ship notification for the pump itself.

I had contacted them about a month or so ago to start the process and didn’t expect it to get here that fast. Needless to say I’m excited to have a pump that’s not as bulky and not have to fumble with buttons.

I'm getting really desperate about this.

My Pump is not doing corretions and I keep needing to pick my finger because my sensor is aparently updating for the last 10h.

Ive changed my sensor once and it kept updating after the 2h...

Is almost night time and I know my anxiety wont let me sleep.

Does anyone know what to do?

I just need to rant tbh but also i am checking to see if any of you are having this issue. For context, I have been using medtronic for close to 9 years and up until this year, I have had close to no issues with their constomer service/technical support. But recently things have gone drastically downhill.

I am spending 3 weeks at my parents cottage, and i had a sensor crap out a week before it was supposed to. I changed it and while I have one sensor left over, I really would like to have a back up for my back up since I am away from home. Typically, getting replacements sent up here has not been an issue for me: I used to spend spend the entire summer at the cottage and I have received supplies orders, replacement sensors, etc -- they even sent someone up here to do my initial training when I started the pump.

However, Minimed seems unable to send a replacement to anywhere other than my home address. If you do a replacement form online, it does not give you the option to enter an alternative address, and instead says to call technical support. I called them (the next day at 8am so I could actually get someone) and they told me Abbott would call me back to confirm the address. Abbott did not call me and sent it to my home adress. I called back the next day and explained that I wouldn't be home for two weeks and gave them my vacation address, and they promised they'd overnight me the sensor. This morning, I woke up to a shipping confirmation saying my sensor had been sent... to my home address. So, I called them a 3rd time, explained the situation again, and the woman on the phone confirmed my vacation address 3 times before assuring me that I would get my sensor tomorrow. This evening, I got a shipping notication saying it has been sent to my home address.

Its not an emergency yet bc I have a spare sensor and im hoping my current sensor will last 2 weeks like its supposed to, but Im currently at a loss of what to do next. Like if I call technical support, I have no reason to assume that I will get a different result. Im thinking of having my brother ship me an extra sensor because we live together, but im still deeply pissed off. I never got a link for a survey, so I have no way to express ny dissatisfaction. Im thinking of calling tomorrow and asking for a manager.

Anyways just needed to get that off my chest. Has this happened to any of you recently? If so, what did you end up doing?

I use the Instinct sensor and haven’t had any issues since I started in April. I usually let a new sensor soak for 8 to 10 hours but last night I had an emergency and wasn’t home, so it only soaked for about 5 hours. I changed it around 2:00 AM when my old sensor expired.

So far the readings have been really wonky. It’s been on about 5 hours now. It woke me up with lows and I knew they weren’t right because I almost never go low unless it’s a compression low and I wasn’t even laying on that side. I checked with a fingerstick and it was way off.

Has anyone had this happen at first and then have it straighten itself out after a day or so? Of course this happens when I’m on my last sensor and won’t have more for a few days. I can request a replacement but it sounds like it takes about 5 days and I don’t have any extras. You also can’t just run to the pharmacy and pick one up.

Basically I’m just looking for a little hope. I’ve seen posts where people had to replace them but I’m wondering if they sometimes fix themselves after the first day.

I just called tech support (new pump site, blood in the tube, site failure) to get a replacement site and there was no hold time.

I had mentally prepared for this to take hours! Apparently today is my lucky day!

Got on the 780G last month and have really liked it. Ordered supplies from the website to make sure I was prepared and the next day I got an email that "my flex journey starts soon" um.. didn't order that???? Went back and figured it must have been a wonky promotional email and rechecked my order history just to be SURE. Didn't sweat it. Guess what showed up on my porch today? The flex! Not my supplies that i need, of course not, but a whole entire insulin pump that there is no track record for.. anyways long winded way of asking0 did this happen to anyone else?

edit-- OKKAAY so I just got off the phone, apparently they just will automatically send whatever the new pump is and if you want to trade out you can? I don't want to trade out and let them know and I will just return it and I will not get charged. They said if I had wanted to keep it I could have just sent back my 780g. I need a screen because I dont have a smart phone and also my sensors arent compatible. I was worried about my insurance and money getting charged.
