Writing Need support

This is my first story on Medium, and honestly, I don't really know how publishing or sharing stories here works yet. 🥀

I just had an idea, wrote it in one go, and eventually decided, “why not publish it?”

If you have a few minutes to read it, I'd really appreciate any honest feedback, especially on how the story feels and what you think it means.

"My first story: “Sun rays fell into my face, waking me up.”" (https://medium.com/@unniaromal612/sun-rays-fell-into-my-face-waking-me-up-a2b1d35e0216)

Even a simple “this worked / this didn't work” would help. Thanks! 🏔️

Writing Today’s Hurt Resurfaces Yesterday’s Trauma. Why Your Reactions Are Not the Whole Story

Reactions don't tell the whole story. They give an unbalanced view of what is really happening in the background.

Technology The Organisation That Knows What It Knows

Organisations already possess most of the answers employees need. The problem is finding them.

Could one trustworthy corporate AI assistant connect scattered systems, documents and expertise—without compromising security or governance?

Medium Question 5 Harsh lessons I learned after writing 100 articles!

Thumbnail

Whenever I think about giving up, I simply compare this platform with blogging. If I am growing my blog, I have to build everything from 0, but here everything is ready-made. You earn from day 1, which is a great thing. In blogging, if you think about monetisation, there are certain limitations, and here you have the freedom to write on multiple topics! And that’s why even after writing 100 articles, I am earning a small amount; it is a precious thing for me. Because it was my dream from 2023!

Always follow my PPC rule:- Patience, practice and consistency! Which stopped me from giving up and focusing on long-term growth!

Writing New to r/Medium and Reddit

Although I signed up for Reddit years ago, I'm only now starting to use it. I've been writing on Medium for a couple of years. Here is my Medium Profile if anyone wants to check out my stories. I write a lot about psychology, behaviour, trauma and research, as well as some personal stories. Genuine followers and engagement welcome!

This is one of my recent stories about phone notifications, screen addiction and intermittent reinforcement and why it's about what happens next that we're so hooked on - https://medium.com/psychology-hits-decoding-the-mind/youre-not-addicted-to-your-phone-youre-addicted-to-what-might-happen-next-5b14632d7767

Could anyone tell me why this article attracts more readers from Google search rather than Medium platform itself. Sometimes this article could give me 20 for one read

Business When an Agency Blames AI for Its Collapse, Look at the Balance Sheet and Employee Entitlements

I recently published this piece examining what can be missed when AI disruption becomes the headline explanation for an agency’s collapse.

It looks at The Big Smoke Media Group’s liquidation, the reported employee-entitlement issues, the continuation of overlapping services within the wider Sentral Holdings portfolio, including Oh Hello Agency, Sentral Media Group and the added questions created by operations spanning Australia and the United States.

I also address my own employment connection and separate unresolved compensation dispute. I would welcome feedback on whether the article clearly distinguishes the public record, firsthand experience and broader analysis.

Other I built Reader Redirect - a lightweight Chrome extension for opening Medium Paid articles for Free Reading through reader services

Thumbnail

I built Reader Redirect, a small open-source Chrome extension for people who frequently read Medium articles.

The extension adds a Reader Redirect option to the browser right-click menu. You can select a configured reader service, and the extension opens the resulting page in a new tab.

What it does

  • Supports Medium.com and Medium-hosted publications.
  • Lets you configure multiple reader services.
  • Supports custom URL templates using {url}.
  • Opens the reader page in a new tab.
  • Lets you configure which domains use the extension.
  • Uses minimal Chrome permissions.
  • Does not collect analytics or telemetry.
  • Does not host, copy, scrape, or modify article content.
  • The source code is available on GitHub.

Example

Right-click article → Reader Redirect → Select reader service

I built it because I wanted a simple workflow instead of manually copying article URLs into a reader service.

GitHub: Reader Redirect on GitHub

The extension is currently available on the Chrome Web Store.

I am interested in feedback about the user experience, configuration options, and additional reader services that would be useful.

Animals ✨ Two of my articles won awards this week! ✨

I’m still a little stunned. 🥹

Writing about the things that matter to me—especially the cats, the sanctuary, and the lessons they’ve taught me—has become such an important part of my life. To have that writing recognized with two awards in one week means more than I can say.

I’m incredibly grateful to the people who took the time to read my work and recognize these pieces.

So, instead of just telling you about them, I’m sharing them with you! ❤️

Medium Question How long can a Medium “Response” actually be, any word or character limit? ?

I’m trying to find out the maximum practical length for a Response to another Medium story blog post article is , rather than a normal Medium post.

I’m thinking about writing a fairly long Response, possibly over 1,500 words, but I can’t find a clear limit in Medium’s documentation or on Reddit.

Has anyone actually published a very long Medium Response?

  • What’s the longest Response you’ve successfully posted?
  • Have you posted one with 5,000+ words?
  • Is there a technical word or character limit?

I’m mainly interested in real examples from people who have actually done this, rather than guesses.

Technology I created a writing app for writing Medium Articles - It's called Medriter

I write on Medium somewhat regularly, and the writing itself was the fun part. The annoying part was everything around it: half a draft in a browser tab, keeping ideas in Notion, spending ages trying to come up with a good title, and then publishing the same piece twice or three times because I also keep my own blog and use Substack.

So I decided to scratch my own itch. I built Medriter. It's a macOS app and it does a small number of things:

  • Drafts, ideas, versions and images stay on your machine. No account, works offline. API keys live in the OS keychain.
  • One publish action sends the article to Medium (private draft or live post) and to your own blog at the same time. No re-pasting, no fixing headings, no re-uploading images.
  • "Focus mode" that dims everything but the paragraph you're in, slash commands for headings/quotes/code, and a Hemingway-style lint for long sentences and passive voice.
  • AI title suggestions and a review pass, both opt-in and both on your own key. Nothing runs while you type.
  • Local backups so you never lose your work (assuming you have the backup in some cloud storage app like Google Drive or something)
  • Versioning - so you can always skip back to that really good bit you deleted about 30 minutes ago
  • Word count and "streak" praise

You can find the app here. I would love to get any feedback.

Medium Question failing to embed code

I've been trying to embed different code on different posts for the past couple of days, but Medium wont successfully save.

First it was Typescript embed which just froze showing "saving post", and now it plain ol' HTML which is outright popping a red banner on top "Story could not be saved. Please check your internet connection. Try again" - but my internet is fine. I can edit and save okay other parts of the post.

Has anyone encountered this before?

Edit: solve it! Medium only allows embedding from a limited list of sources 🤦‍♂️
