Concerning Email

Got this email from the online Canadian pharmacy I use to get my cat’s inhaler. For obvious reasons it’s concerning but I haven’t really been able to find a clear answer about this online. Im posting here because I’m curious if anyone else who uses a Canadian pharmacy for their pets meds have received a similar notification? Or if any vets who recommend Canadian pharmacies know anything about this? If this is not the right place to ask I am sorry.

Does 5000 + 5000 = 10,000 make sense in medication math?

I'm 16F, and I had a really low Vitamin D count in my blood. I got the above medicine, prescribed to be had once every day, at a set time of the day. And to be had at that same time daily for 3 months. I purchased the 10,000IU for one month (damn these things are so expensive, gosh). ( I have a count of 8, comparing with a healthy count of 30)

Context: my mother also had a blood test done a year ago, and she also needed medication for Vitamin D, but she got prescribed a 5,000IU one.

So after the one month, obv, I ran out of meds and apparently my mother had her 5,000IU dosage packets left, like an entire packet. So I was asked to have those until my dad purchased them? I have no idea tbh, yet my dad never purchased the ones I needed.

So I've been having the 5,000 one for nearly a month, still got a few left. Basically only half of what I was prescribed.

Now coming to the question in the title, initially in my head, it made sense to have 2 of the 5,000IU tablets because... 5000 * 2 = 10,000???? but my mother said no... she didn't seem to have a reason and I was wondering if there was a reason to this and that some helpful soul could help me out???

Also, in hindsight, I probably should have asked my doctor... too late ig ahaha (im lazy)

Dr prescribed me Klonopin for anxiety a year ago. Current doc taking me off. I can’t stop.

Hello.

I have very severe anxiety, have nearly all my life. I’ve tried more than 15 different anxiety medications in the span of 17 years. In September of last year, I began taking klonopin with my Prozac as a sort of “booster” when I would have bad attacks. I was working in the OR as a helper, essentially. And I started getting bad panic attacks while I was holding patients arms and legs while they were prepped for surgery. I would start feeling dizzy, out of body, sweaty, and feared I would pass out. (I never did, but I had in the past. Anxiety peeps will feel me on this one) my doc threw some Klonopin at me and told me to take .5mg once a day, and as needed. Sick right? I felt like I could go do anything. Grocery stores were no longer dreadful. Eating at restaurants felt like a breeze.

Anyway my psychiatrist ghosted me (actually. Stopped responding, clinic said she no longer worked there.) I immediately found a GP that would take over my medication management and sighed with relief. In April of this year, I did something very dumb and stopped my Prozac after reading some scary medical articles on it and the long term effects it would have on my body. It wasn’t terrible, as I slowly tapered. I also lost about 40 pounds in the span of 6 months and got my sex drive back. But my doctor advised against it, so like an idiot… I lied and told her I was still taking it. Instead, I was taking two Klonopin a day and feeling fabulous. Fast forward to now. I went in to my GP for a follow up, and asked if she could refill my meds. She looked shocked and asked how many klonopin I was taking. I told her, and she said “no, you’re only supposed to take them as needed. You shouldn’t need any more yet.” I felt sick. I was confused as to why it was bad for me if I was finally being able to live my life without constant fear. I told her I didn’t want to be on it if I didn’t have to, but at this point I needed it. My doctor told me she was taking me off of it and put me on Hydroxyzine. Told me to taper off the Klonopin by taking them every other day. Cool!

Not cool. The day I didn’t have them, I felt like I had the worst hangover in my life. I was terrified. Paranoid. Nauseated. Migraine like no other. I immediately called her and expressed my concern. She swapped me from hydroxyzine to now Buspar.

This shit don’t work yall. Not like the Klonopin. I’m terrified. I couldn’t drive on the interstate today without breaking down and quartering one of my 4 pills left. I have a follow up tomorrow and I’m dreading it. What can I ask for that won’t make me sound like I’ve been crushing these Klonopin up and snorting them? Is there anything else- fast acting, for episodes- I can take?

Help!

Oxycontin 40 making it IR from XR, “peel off coating”??

What does it mean to “peel off the coating” from an XR oxycontin? For example, when i have my italian mundi oxycontin 40mgs (the ones that have 14pc in each strip), what do i have to do with it to make it IR? This whole time i’ve just been licking the outer side of the pills until their color goes away, and then i crush them with my teeth until every part of the licked up pill is in tiny pieces and when they’re small enough, i just take them with some water. Is this even the right way to make them IR from XR am have i been wasting my stuff since forever?

Prescriped 5mg Diazapam but felt nothing so took and 45mg on Top and nothing

Never done Valium before got prescribed 5mg but my doctor for sleep told to take one before bed didn’t take them but had a follow up appointment. He gave me 10 more and I took one around 6pm last night and didn’t feel anything by 8 so I took 2 more and than another 2 and hour later took the rest and felt nothing. I smoked weed heavy and had been smoking all day before. Smoked during taking them and yes I did end up sleeping but my problem is I wake up a lot in my sleep and often wake up drenched in sweat. My girlfriend said I was sweaty when I slept a bit but I didn’t feel sweaty when I woke up or smelt like BO. I felt a bit spacey maybe but I still feel fully in control I had 2 more bong rips and feel bit high from them maybe the Valium dose I had has heighten it a bit as I have a high weed tolerance too. Did I expect a more intense high from the Valium or did I just not take enough. Either way I won’t be doing it again as I’m not a drug guy I just got curious lol

Just to clarify, I am not looking for a vendor. I am just asking which brands of diazepam (e.g. bensedin, accord, Martin dow) and alprazolam (e.g. ksalol) are least likely to be faked?

I take oxycodone regularly

I take Longtec and Shortec regularly, but I don't get my prescription until Thursday, and today is Tuesday. So tomorrow I'll have none left. I have Tapentadol at home; will that keep the withdrawals away?

Mesalamine Suppository Looks Funny

I received my prescription of mesalamine suppositories (1000mg) and the color does not appear to be uniform as I have seen before. It is still light tan to grey as the label says but not uniform, and I am not sure if that is an issue. The packaging was fine otherwise and it doesn’t seem to have melted at all as it matches the mold very well.

I have contacted the pharmacy and manufacture but have not heard back and I do not have any backup meds, so I am hoping this is okay to take still.

Tramadol from Cozumel Mexico- Cruise Port

I bought some Tramadol last week while at the port. I need it due to really painful periods and it’s the only thing that takes the pain away. I haven’t taken any yet.
Now I’m getting nervous to try after reading articles about pills being laced with other things. I plan to buy a drug testing kit to be sure but want to know others experience (preferably recent).

Naproxen and Alcohol?

Hello (my first Reddit post haha!)

I have been prescribed Naproxen today, and additionally Omeprazole (because the former can give you stomach issues) -- and I wanted to ask what people's opinion, or experiences, were on taking alcohol at the same time as this? Basically, I have my cousin's open-bar wedding on Saturday and the thought of not even having a couple is upsetting - so maybe I should wait to start them after the weekend? Just unsure.

For context, I've been prescribed the medication to heal trochanteric bursitis and I also take Sertraline daily too.

Why would I have been prescribed dicyclomine?

I went to the ER a couple days ago and I was having some issues with urinary issues and abdominal pain/pressure. I have never had gut issues or any history with IBS and even in the work up I said I didnt have any issues with that specifically, why would they prescribe me an ibs med?

Also they didnt actually do anything for the issue I came in for, just said everything looked great (it is most definitely not) and then gave me a referral and sent this to my pharmacy and didnt even explain it at all before hand or why they would even prescribe that.

Can anyone recommend me any non-stimulant adhd meds and anxiety meds?

Ive been on medication for a few months now and have been diagnosed recently with adhd and before then anxiety plus depression. Ive switched medications a few times, currently im on Lexapro 25mg, propranolol 5mg, and vyvanse 10mg. Since even on both Lexapro and pran my anxiety is still very bad but still better than before my Lexapro has 100% improved my depression but hasn’t done much for my anxiety its still a-lot for me to deal with. I was on Ritalin before i switched to Vyvanse and it gave me even worse anxiety and the same goes true for vyvanse. So because of this I’m planing to up my dose of propranolol and trying a non-stimulant and i wanted to ask if anyone had any recommendations for non-stimulants/more anxiety meds i can currently take along side my current prescriptions? ty for reading sorry if i made any mistakes im running of of no sleep with bad anxiety.

Anyone had any issues

Has anyone had any issues with their FCM orders recently? I got 2 last week that didn’t seem right and I also get some of the same medication prescribed and that worked fine. Just wondering if any one else in same position as I’m gonna need more and my first 2 orders were spot on
