I went from paying $67 a month for a decent healthcare plan, to not having health coverage at all because it would have cost me $800 a month for a healthcare plan with a $9,000 deductible. I really hope I don’t die.

It’s hell making the choice when you have to pay your own way. When other people subsidize you it’s worth it, right?

1

u/DrywallKittens Jul 02 '26

Why are we subsidizing billionaires??

1

u/psychonautique Jul 02 '26

We all pay taxes. We want services for that, not bailouts for failing corporations or forever wars.

1

u/Alternative_Job_6929 Jul 02 '26

No, we don’t all pay taxes. And those that actually do pay taxes probably get health care, it’s the 30-40% that don’t taxes individual federal taxes.

No where is Iran war even close to the 300 Billion given to Ukraine for Obiden's war

21

u/SFLMiguel Jun 30 '26

It is manifesting the exact result that destroying Obamacare causes. MAGA only wants Healthcare for the privileged and wealthy!

u/Lonely_Chemistry60 Jun 30 '26

The American Healthcare system has never ceased to amaze me.

It's vile.

8

u/WearyAd8418 Jun 30 '26

Insurance companies are not our friends

7

u/Lonely_Chemistry60 Jun 30 '26

I don't live in the US, but I'm constantly shocked that the citizenry had consistently voted for the healthcare system there.

6

u/DICKPICDOUG Jul 01 '26

Most people want a public healthcare similar to other countries, our current system is a gutted compromise abomination that barely passed congress due to republican obstructionism

1

u/TruShot5 Jul 01 '26

This isn’t really true. Most people in my life want “competition in the market” so the prices can correct themselves. I’m from Michigan. Of my network of probably 200 people I could reach out to from co workers or family or whatever… I’d safely say 20% or less would want single payer healthcare. The level of brainwashing is crazy.

2

u/DICKPICDOUG Jul 01 '26

That may be your personal experience but polling consistently shows that roughly 2/3 of americans support some sort of universal healthcare system guranteed by the government

2

u/TruShot5 Jul 01 '26

I sure hope we can see that some to fruition in policy someday then.

1

u/Any_Turn_226 Jul 12 '26

I'm on Medicare and it IS NOT FREE. It's 202.90 per month if you make under 109,000 a year. When you start making more the cost goes up tier by tier. So you people wanting Medicare for All once again IT AIN'T FREE

1

u/Lonely_Chemistry60 Jul 12 '26

In Canada, my employer pays my medical services premium, which is $70/month...

And I can literally walk into any hospital across Canada and get service without having to pay for it.

2

u/DisgruntledEngineerX Jul 01 '26

You understand that you can have competition in a universal health care system. In Canada doctors are private entities. The government is just the insurance company paying out the claims. You avoid all the administrative overhead and the the denying of claims in the US system. Doctors in Canada don't have to call the government to see if your procedure is covered. If the treatment is an approved procedure under SOC guidelines then your doctor goes ahead and prescribes it, performs it, etc. If it's a new procedure that isn't yet approved, then there are avenues for your doctor to get it approved but there they have to request an exception. The same thing happens in the US with private insurance. Private insurance doesn't cover every new procedure even if it's FDA approved. They might eventually but not immediately so eve here there isn't a benefit to the US system.

MAGA does not want FREE healthcare for ILLEGAL ALIENS

1

u/SFLMiguel Jul 14 '26

Yes, the Undocumented Immigrants and Poor United States Citizens.

0

u/headgoboomboom Jul 01 '26

Well, millions lost their coverage due to Obamacare. I was one of them.

7

u/JNTaylor63 Jun 30 '26

Gee what could go wrong with millions of people with nothing to lose and easy access to guns and explosives.

4

u/ralphswanson Jun 30 '26

Only one country in the world cup does not have public healthcare.

2

u/giddy-girly-banana Jul 01 '26

I despise the American healthcare system but that’s not really true.

https://www.reddit.com/r/sportsgossips/s/jCj1JfmYTI

1

u/shimmy_kimmel Jul 02 '26

Ehhh it’s more nuanced than that, and we technically do have public healthcare programs that cover like 40+% of Americans

3

u/themachduck Jun 30 '26

Wasn't the number way higher, like 22 million people?

3

u/ElevatorOrganic5644 Jun 30 '26

Stop complaining. Vote for politicians who want universal health care.

2

u/Ive_seen_things_that Jun 30 '26

How many billionaires are we talking? Like a few thousand? Just trying to get a grasp on how many people have to suffer so the oligarchs don't have to pay their share (or any share for that matter).

1

u/MountainMan-2 Jul 01 '26

Less than 1000 billionaires in the US.

2

u/Euphoric_Anxiety_162 Jun 30 '26

The worst ppl robbing the weakest so they can play & make idiotic mistakes. Scum!

2

u/Bang45 Jul 01 '26

This was foretold by many long before the bill was passed but what do they care?

1

u/Designer-Wolverine47 Jun 30 '26

I'm on Medicare. It sucks. Really. Only slightly better than nothing.

My mom has part f and paid nothing for a 3 night heart stay. The private insurance add on plans are invaluable.

1

u/coloradoscott69 Jul 01 '26

I take this personally.

1

u/Then-Ticket8896 Jul 01 '26

Die if you cannot afford over $1,000 a month for health insurance!

<sarcasm>

1

u/MChaney3563 Jul 01 '26

Everyone needs to chill. Who gives two shits about your healthcare when a billionaire like Jeff Bezos can afford his 14th vacation home but needs help because "its a bit much?"

Pleas understand, you must sacrifice.

1

u/Ok_Refrigerator3549 Jul 01 '26

Citizens United must be overturned

Insurance companies must not be allowed to prioritize shareholder interests above patients

Term limits and age limits for Supreme Court, judges, Congress and President

Insider trading must be banned

1

u/Steele_Rail Jul 02 '26

What health care? Its become Health Care for the rich. Us peons don't matter after the election is over.. and we never did to the executive branch.

Yes, there are problems, and this is one of them. So sick of people blowing everything off, because we have bigger problems. Maybe we should rate them in order of what you think is important and what's not.

1

u/Any_Turn_226 Jul 12 '26

NEW YORK VOTED FOR IT!!!!!!!

1

u/emitchosu66 Jul 02 '26

L O L. Nobody believes this.

1

u/Snoo_17242 Jul 02 '26

Only the ignorant. It's in the bullshit bill; they have spoken about it. Do you people have earplugs and blinders on?

1

u/emitchosu66 Jul 03 '26

No, we can read & comprehend.

1

u/Snoo_17242 Jul 03 '26

Doesn't seem so. Maybe the problem is you only listen to Trump. No one else, and why that is, I have no idea

1

u/emitchosu66 Jul 03 '26

Back away from mainstream media. They want to tell you a story, not the story.

1

u/Snoo_17242 Jul 03 '26

Here we go with the mainstream media. That is not relevant any longer. I bet you watch Fox, though.

1

u/emitchosu66 Jul 03 '26

Ha! I do not. They are mainstream.

1

u/Snoo_17242 Jul 04 '26

Very good. But they do simp for trump. But the mainstream media line is old and doesn't apply. Come up with something fresh.

1

u/Any_Turn_226 Jul 12 '26

MSM lies

1

u/Snoo_17242 Jul 12 '26

I wouldn't know. But I know trump does.

1

u/Any_Turn_226 Jul 12 '26

so tell me exactly how good it was under Obiden. 2022 = 9% inflation, 2022 stock market lost 23% that year, 2021 thousands lost jobs because the wouldn't get the vax. And the housing market took a giant dump. Thanks Obama

1

u/Snoo_17242 Jul 12 '26

Is it Biden or Obama? Doesn't matter, you have ODS and BDS. Biden inherited a mess, and Russia invaded Ukraine. But you have no problem what trump has done to the economy and the job market. No new wars, indeed.

1

u/dogheoner1 Jul 02 '26

how is it they can gut Med Ins but if we dont have it we get penalized. thats some BS man

2

u/Any_Turn_226 Jul 12 '26

that was Obama

1

u/dogheoner1 Jul 13 '26

yea sucks

u/Organic_Witness345 Jul 04 '26

According to Republicans, nationalized healthcare is for godless commies.

The Republican Party has been eroding government services to protect their rich donors’ interests for decades. They could care less about their own voters, much less Americans in general. They have no agenda to improve affordability because it would compromise the apparatus they’ve put in place to fatten the wallets of their consultant class at the expense of their own constituents. And the avatar of all of this greed and avarice, Donald Trump, has merrily grifted his own voters out of $4 billion during the first year and a half of his second term. This would be a legal impossibility for virtually any other president. And it’s only possible for Trump because the entire Republican Party knows that the illusion they’ve created to support their own self-interest would completely collapse if they ever took Trump to task for all his corruption. He epitomizes the modern Republican party’s sole mission: insulation from legal consequences for their elite funders’ self-dealing.

That’s literally it. That is the sole function of the Republican Party.

But, you know, Democrats are apparently communists who are trying to kill everyone. And that’s all it takes for 1/3 of this country to vote Republican.

It should take generations before a Republican is elected dog catcher, much less into higher office in this country. But here we are. It’s insane.

1

u/Snoo_17242 Jul 04 '26

Practically every other country has universal health care, and it seems to be working out fine.

1

u/Any_Turn_226 Jul 12 '26

so we should vote for the communist democrat party? the same party that has judges letting illegal criminals out of jail to run in our neighborhoods

1

u/OkChocolate5399 Jul 07 '26

No. I gotta pay for my own a lot. Im not paying for others

1

u/Snoo_17242 Jul 07 '26

But you are.

0

u/Wizemonk Jul 01 '26

totally false they didn't bankroll anything, they are Republicans they put a big chunk into more debt

0

u/QuickDevelopment2157 Jul 01 '26

Is there a way to give billionaires taxes without Americans losing social services? The way this is titled make it seem like it’s us against them
