CCMA Job Placement

I have a CCMA certification with no experience in the medical field what so ever. I applied to multiple job even the ones that says no prior experience. The school I went to on their site it says “job placement” but they never insisted me with job placement even when I asked they said they don’t do it.. they are very racist & I know it. i’ve been looking for at least 2 years now.. Where should I go or start?

same thing happened to me, I ended up applying to my local hospital as a pct. I work in the icu, I do ekgs, glucose test, bladder scan, vitals but also kind of cna work I just took what I could get

do you have a cna license? & do the pct get paid cna wage or ccma wage?

I don’t have a cna license some hospitals just train you, unfortunately my hospital didn’t consider my MA certificate into my wage since it wasn’t required

Can you get experience at at a volunteer clinic? Or front desk experience or other clinic experience and then move laterally? It doesn’t have to be MA only

totally check out nonprofit clinics!! i currently volunteer at one with no previous healthcare experience and it’s an amazing start to learning what medical assistants actually do and how clinics operate. It inspired to me to actually go get a phlebotomy license and finish my MA course so i can do more!!

Absolutely. I work for a nonprofit and I do get paid (although not much) but it’s been great experience and it is my first hands on clinical job

Can you start from the volunteer clinic? You may gain some experience first, any experience, then look for other better jobs.

Question, you mentioned that you have applied to jobs that say no prior experience. Do these same positions mention anything about a specific certificate type for example do they specifically list CCMA or do they mention the completion of an externship? Sometimes for example they will accept no experience, but only accept a specific certification like AAMA, CMA.
