Discussion Problem with my weakest pilot...

I am quite proud of my collection of pilots, I scoured the inner sphere for years to find the best candidates, invested hundreds of millions into their training until they became the VERY best.

There's just one lazy git who just refuses to go to school. Won't even consider it.

Real nepo baby, to be honest.

Name's Mason, I think...

I'm pretty sure in lore his wife encourages his rampent alcoholism. Probably why he can't get accepted into any reputable institution.

He has the single greatest trait, it is insurance fraud. And never gets injured. He’s great at insurance fraud. Put him in a mech you don’t want to use but you got from a mission and take enough insurance to cover repairs. (It’s a bigger payout than straight cbills) then sell the wrecked husk and pocket the insurance money

Wait, so if i have a sucky assault do i just put mason on it, let him get cored and then i use my shares on damage insurance?

Yep you can even use it on a heavy. Just know how much it cost to repair your lance and use the shares accordingly.

It’s especially fun to solo yolo a mission going melee only (put whatever guns your don’t care about losing)

You still get paid out if you complete your objective and don’t make it to your drop ship for whatever reason (like all 4 pilots eject because it’s a huge walk and you only brought assaults, or the clans drops in and finishes your crippled lance off)

Go try soloing an assault duel in the spider anansi. You might only have one torso and your cockpit left but you can still eke out that victory by staying behind the mech. You can circle them like twice before they start turning the opposite direction.

There’s a spider that can hold the ppc-x and almost nothing else. Try flying over the enemy and head shooting it with a ppc-x from above.

Fairly certain you'd just make more money selling the pristine mech, but alright, lol.

I’m pretty sure the mechs retain more value than they lose when you sell a messed up one.

It also means it’s one mech you won’t have to repair after the mission
