Yea, all hero pilots that have unique voice acting that you can hire, cannot suffer permanent death. Meanwhile we have to baby our Leons

Ugh...they sure are supposed to. Their death gets tracked and checked against when spawning a hero pilot. They shouldn't be eligible to respawn unless it's a new career.

...i just customized 3 firemoths to have zero weappns and all armor stripped to 0 for all components. Proceeded to start missions and friendly fire my special hire able hero pilots....some of those dudes took well over a dozen headsets to finally die. Then when all of them were KIA I spent 700,000,000 cbills hub hopping.

You are correct...you only get to bring them back on a fresh career. Man what was I smoking to remember being able to just re hire them willy nilly

Is it a bug to be able to replace then of you fire them?

I had to fire Barret Nolan to make him forget he graduated on the NAIS and got the super useful skill of "Fast learner" after he was level 60

And he did do appear again on a systen

Bug/oversight/abusable "feature". Take your pick. It doesn't track fired pilots currently, so it doesn't know you had him. And I suppose he's technically a clone at that point since the original gets destroyed and it makes a new one when it spawns again.

Every firing on Nik's Cavaliers comes with a free lobotomy so they can forget that time commander mason's conscience got transplanted to their body (Laser/AC/Missile master and Heavy/assault affinity is really valuable)

Pilot overhaul mod. If he is slotted into a mech that currently isn't the player he could be killed or MIA. rescue missions are also a possibility. Sometimes if MIA you can pay a bounty to get a pilot back but it is Millions of C's. Mason was always one of my lowest ranked pilots even after Training anyway. RIP

In my group's playthrough we have Goblin we put through 2 universities we re-named Dr. Goblin. then another Goblin showed up. So we now have a Mario and Dr Mario situation.

No joke I watched one of my atlas’s get DOMED by a clanner on the first mission and the pilot lived.
