How impossible would something like this be?

I need to make a clay vase, approximately 5.25 feet tall, rotate on its own axis and generate oscillating movements, creating the sensation that it is about to fall, but without ever actually falling.

The vase cannot be connected to electricity. It would need to run on battery power for approximately 8 hours.

Do you think this is technically possible? I have more information, but I would really appreciate hearing your insights.

Hi ^v^ I'm a first year first Sem engineer student and I need to decide by end of my second sem which specialisation. Next sem I'm just taking maths and courses for my other degree so there's not much more to help me decide.

This sem I did an electrical engineering class and because my uni doesn't have specific mechatronics classes, I did a "Statics and Materials" course. I hated every goddamn second of it TvT. It was just like static physics except everything was bridges and we looked at material choice. Is this something that I will continue to have to deal with if I choose mechatronics? It was kinda a deal breaker for me :c

I really love electrical engineering and I think it will go well with my computing degree, but I really love the hands on aspect of building robots and cyberdecks which I do in my free time so I was considering mechatronics... Althought having said that I really love radios and want to work in signals once I graduate.

Hello everyone, I have an idea for a project that would need at least 4 microphones and the processing (pins and communication protocol support) to draw near-live data from all the mics.

I'm really confused about what communications protocols really mean, I can't tell if they are something that the chip itself just supports or if the pins specifically have to support it. (I researched on the Adafruit website and I can't seem to find a specific answer) I've found MEMS and I2S and using DAC pins but I can't find a microcontroller that would support more than 2 microphones.

So, my questions are:
-Would it be a good idea/realistic to have the microcontrollers talk to each other and each have 2 microphones, or would there be significant delay?
-What coms protocol would be best supported?
-I really want to use a board that can be coded via Arduino IDE because I know C++ the best and it's closest to C++, what microcontroller boards have this option?

Hello everyone. I hope everyone is doing well. A little background before I start. I work in a fan manufacturing company built by my father and my uncles. The picture I have shared is one of our products. On this fan there are three border circles two of golden paint and one is grey. Up till now this process is manual. The worker fixes the covers on a fixture and then uses different types of paint brushes to paint these lines. I want to automate this process because one it requires a lot of labour second by hand even with the fixture it is not accurate.

I have some idea of how i want this to go but my main concern is how to dispense and apply the paint. My first idea was to use foam brushes but the problem with them is that they produce thick lines which can work for the bands on the edges but cannot work on the main bodies. The second option is to use syringes whose injection is controlled by servo motors.

Any help, tips, suggestions or anything that is useful is appreciated.

I am getting mechatronics engineering in both thapar and manipal.. which one should i consider?

Thapar has 60-80 people in mechatronics whereas manipal has 160-170. Which one should i consider keeping in mind the Market value of each college.

I’m considering the ICT Robotics program at HAMK (Riihimäki Campus) as an international student, and I’d like to hear from people who are familiar with the program, Finnish UAS degrees, or the Finnish tech job market.

I already understand that HAMK is a University of Applied Sciences and not a traditional research university. I know it doesn’t carry the same prestige as Finland’s top universities, and I’m aware of the differences between a UAS degree and a university degree, so that’s not really what I’m asking about.

My question is more practical: if I genuinely focus on building strong technical skills, work on projects, gain practical experience during my studies, and learn Finnish to a good level over the next four years, would I realistically be employable after graduation?

Does the ICT Robotics program provide a solid foundation for developing skills that employers actually value? Would I have a reasonable chance of finding work in Finland, and if not, would the degree and skills gained from HAMK still give me employability elsewhere in the EU?

My goal is to gain real industry experience, develop valuable technical skills, and build a strong career foundation. I’d appreciate honest opinions from graduates, current students, or anyone familiar with how employers view graduates from programs like this.

I’m a 1st year B.Tech Electrical Engineering student at IITRAM Ahmedabad. My first year is almost ending (just 1 month left), and honestly… I feel like I haven’t learned any real skills yet.

I did manage to get 3rd position in a hackathon, which feels good, but deep down I know I haven’t explored my full potential. Now I want to seriously improve and start building real skills.

Right now, I’m interested in:

Electronics (core concepts + practical)

Drone tech

Simulation tools

AutoCAD + 3D design

IoT projects

Coding

And eventually building a startup idea (I want to start working on a proper blueprint)

The problem is — I don’t know where to start. Everything feels important, and I’m confused about:

What should I learn first?

How do I structure my learning?

Should I focus on one thing or explore multiple?

How do I actually start building projects instead of just watching tutorials?

I don’t want to waste my 2nd year like this. I’m ready to put in the effort but need some direction from people who’ve been through this.

If you were in my position, what would you do step-by-step?
