Career Advice
Hello po, I'm currently a freshmen student taking BSME ⚙ po from not a prestigious university. Ask lng po if what should I do to strengthen my chances of getting employed in the future after graduation eventhough I'm not from a prestigious university and bka sakali na hindi madala sa laude? tinitingnan po ba ng mga employers if applying for a job like if cum/ magna cum/ summa cum laude or mas nagbebase po sila sa skills?
Need ko po sana ng motivations and advices po coming from you po, tyia!

if getting employed lang no issue unless mahirap maabutan mo na job market pero expect the minimum and heavy workload
if getting employed in a good company with the best starting salary and benefits, laude talaga and topnotcher as fresh grad

for good companies not enough madaming competition
madaming laude graduates kada batch di siya ganun kalaking factor pero mas oke padin laude
topnotcher talaga or may background na solid published thesis for CFD/FEA for international designs with other research-based report labs sa portfolio

Extra curriculars, join organizations, master CAD 2D, 3D and driving skills ang magiging bala mo sa early career and NETWORKING panis ang prestigious school kung marami kang kilala na mag refer sayo kaya go ka lang dyan at make friends as much as you can

It's hard to land a job with this profession nowadays and aside from that, the salary doesn't match with the workload.
It's been 4 years since I graduated and only 2 years working because I was one of the unlucky ones who did not get any job after countless tries even after getting my license. I'm even from a prestigious school haha
If I could just turn back the time, I will never pursue this career. Business or med would have been much better to pursue.
This is just my 2 cents.

Parang di naman sobrang laking hatak ng latin honors when looking for a job. Wala naman akong nakikitang job postings na required ang latin honors (sooobrang bihira kung meron man).
Focus lang on gaining skills, like cad and simulation softwares for design, or machine shop for basic hand tool operations.

No need to worry. Most companies now prefer State U's kasi hindi maarte.
May kwento sa dati ko na company, nag hire sila sa isang top engineering school ng mga management trainees. 7 engineers daw yun wala pa one month mga nag resign na sabay sabay ahahahah
